Chapter 22

Maya pov:

"What the fuck?" I mumbled. I stared at Brian as he did the same. I ran my eyes all over his body and  I gulped. Then I realized I was checking him out and shrugged the thoughts away.

As I look back to his face, I feel his eyes roam around my body which clearly made me insecure for no reason. I shifted uncomfortably in my position as his eyes raked through my body. It felt like he could see right through. 

Just then I heard footsteps and I looked further behind Brian to see a happy Drake walking towards us along with Maria.

"Ah! I see you have met my cousin already Maya" Drake grinned and I looked between Drake and Brian in shock.

"C-cousin?" I stuttered.

"Oh she already knows him babe" Maria smirked and I glared at her.

"Oh How? and why are you still standing outside? Come on in" Drake gestured me to move forward.

I walk past Brian who had been silent the whole time and stood right next to Maria.

"They go to the same high school and Brian and Maya are......pretty close" Maria smirked again.

Brian closed the door before walking past us. Drake and Maria showed me the way to the living room. As I entered, I could feel all eyes on me. I looked around and was again stunned to see another familiar person other than my family,Brian and Drake.

"Maya! Wow I didn't know you were Maria's sister. I should've though, you guys look similar." Jason walked up and hugged me. I hugged him back.

"I see you are also familiar with my brother Maya." Drake smiled. I pulled away and  looked between Jason and Drake. I realized they also look similar. Wait! If Jason was Drake's brother then he would be Brian's cousin too. Then when they met the other day, why were they acting as though they hate each other. I looked over at Brian to find him scrolling through his phone.

"Are you stalking my family?" He joked and I grew beet red.

"Coincidence I guess." I suggested and he nodded. 

I looked behind to see Jacob who greeted me with a nod and I waved at him. Suddenly a lady who is probably in her 50's approaching me with a warm smile.

"You must be Maya" She smiled and I nodded.

"My oh my you are pretty, I'm these eggheads mom. You can call me Samantha" She gestured towards Jason and Drake. I blushed and chuckled at the same time.

"Ma!" Drake whined.

"Oh hush child" She waved him off.  Another woman in her 50's joined Samantha. She looked very similar to Jacob and Brian. Both of them had her eyes and plump lips. I'm guessing she is their mom.

"Hello Maya! Oh my god finally good to see you in person." The lady exclaimed.

What did she mean by in person?!

"It's nice to meet you too Mrs.Smith" I smiled.

"Oh please, call me Rose, Mrs.Smith sounds very formal and makes me feel old" She whispered while engulfing me in a hug. I giggled in response. Then Samantha and Rose introduced me to their beloved who just gave a tight smile and a shake hand. Brian's dad and Brian were looking almost similar if it weren't for the beard and grey strands on Mr.Smith's hair. He looked more of an older version of Brian. Brian's dad and Jason's dad were brothers.

"If we are done with formalities can we take a seat." Jason enquired. 

"Sure , please have a seat." Samantha gestured and I nodded.
