I was just standing there at the sideway in front of the school, it looked so big and there was so many people, it felt a little foreign to be here, but not because I'm from other country, but because a part of me think that I didn't belong in here, I should belong in here though, this is the normal I could had but I never got the full experience.
I walked towards the school, people were watching me, I thought maybe they could see my bracelets, but I was using sweater to hide them...maybe my clothes? But I thought they looked normal, it was just a pair of converse, the plain grey sweater, black skinny jeans and a black beanie, I thought it was a normal look and not to stand out, maybe is the beanie...I don't really know, I saw the guy from the store I buy it wearing one and thought they were cool and wanted one, it was kinda embarrassing not knowing the name of what it was, but I got it and...I guess it was a bad idea.
"Mr. Guzman?" - called out this teacher in front of me, I assume is the teacher
"Yeah?" - I asked confused
"I'm Mr. O'Malley, here is your schedule" - said the teacher handling me a paper that I took frowning at it - "come with me, I'm gonna walk you to your first class" - he said walking out and you follow him
"Can I ask you a question?" - I asked to him
"Yeah, sure" - said Mr. O'Malley
"Is it ok if I use a beanie?" - I ask him pointing at the one on my head
"Oh...I don't keep up with trends that the teens have these days and I don't want to offend you if I use the wrong pronoun talking to you" - said Mr. O'Malley nervous as he pulled his glassed up and I look at him weird not knowing what he means - "maybe you can ask one of your schoolmates" - he added
"Ummm...is just that people were looking at me when I enter the school" - I said
"Oh you are the new kid, a lot of people are gonna be looking at you, anyways welcome to Midtown High School" - said Mr. O'Malley opening up the door for my classroom and signaled me to go inside with a cheerful smile, even that was a weird answer I walk inside the classroom
