It was the first time she had seen a man with such a fierce demeanor and cold appearance.

"Ah!" Lost in her thoughts, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her fingertips, realizing she had accidentally cut herself.

Before she could react, the man had already strode over and taken her hand, his voice deep, "Let me see."

Sinan felt her hand heat up as his rough, large hand enveloped her delicate one, causing her face to flush.

"Don't mind, do you?" his deep voice murmured.

"What?" Sinan hadn't fully processed what was happening when the man put her hand into his mouth.

Sinan's head buzzed, her whole body exploding with sensation.

"Mmm..." The warmth of his touch made her let out a soft moan, her face flushing from neck to forehead.

Heavens! What was this man doing?!

Hearing her soft exclamation, Zhou Yueshen's eyes flickered, his breathing suddenly becoming heavier.

He released her hand and strode out, returning with a bottle of ointment and bandages. Despite his calm expression, it made Sinan feel a bit awkward.

It seemed she had overthought things. Perhaps Zhou Yueshen's actions were just instinctual, without any deeper meaning.

She took a light breath. Zhou Yueshen clearly had experience with such minor injuries, and he quickly took care of it in just a few moves. Looking at her finger wrapped in gauze, Sinan stiffened slightly.

Zhou Yueshen stood up. "Go sit outside for a while. I'll take care of the rest."

"You can cook?" Sinan shifted her gaze from her finger to the man.

Zhou Yueshen nodded slightly, his voice clear and cold. "Yes."

Sinan had thought he was too busy with work to cook. But then again, it wasn't strange for a man to know how to cook. So she nodded. "Alright, help me cut these potatoes into chunks and put them in with the ribs to stew. Just rinse this vegetable."

"We'll have hotpot later. The soup might be a bit bland, so I'll add some chili water."

Following her instructions, Zhou Yueshen quickly chopped the potatoes and added them to the rib soup. Sinan rummaged in the cupboard for a small bowl. She realized there was no salt left, but luckily there was a new packet in the cabinet. As she reached up to grab it, she felt a tall figure behind her. With ease, he took down the packet of salt that she couldn't reach.

The two stood extremely close, with the man's warm breath behind her. Sinan's cheeks flushed even more than the sunset on the horizon.

They stood quietly in the kitchen, working together. The atmosphere was a bit awkward. Sinan felt her breath catching, and she lowered her eyes, focusing on arranging the seasonings, searching for something to say.

"Have you been busy lately?" she asked.

Zhou Yueshen paused in his task of picking firewood, turning to look at her. His profile was so sharp that any woman would scream upon seeing it. "Not very busy. Why do you ask?"

"I was wondering if you knew where the Lin family lives. I've been here for a while, but my biological parents probably still don't know about my situation. I want to go see them."

At Zhou Yueshen's pause, he nodded slightly. "It's a good idea to go see them. The Lin family lives in the neighboring village, not far from here."

"I'll go to the farm tomorrow to take care of some things, and at noon, we'll go."

Sinan wasn't actually familiar with the Lin family, but the novel had mentioned them. They had visited several times after finding out she was their biological daughter, but they had been turned away by the original owner. In the novel, after being forced into marriage, she harbored extreme resentment towards Lin Sisi and her biological parents for ruining her life, and even when her parents came to visit, she refused to see them.

As a result, her biological parents were pushed away and ultimately became thoroughly disappointed in her. Lin Sisi not only gained favor from the Si family but also received many benefits from her adoptive parents. Of course, because the book didn't delve into the details of this family, Sinan wasn't too clear about them either.

The reason she wanted to go back was not only to see what the Lin family was like but also to clarify the matter of the 3,000 yuan dowry. Based on the novel, their repeated attempts to meet the original owner seemed to indicate their concern for her. Since they cared about her, why were they unwilling to return the 3,000 yuan? They even forced her to marry someone she didn't want to marry. Sinan couldn't help but feel that something was fishy about this.

She nodded. "Okay."

As they walked out carrying the pork rib soup, the children were still sitting at the table. The braised pork ribs on the table hadn't been touched.

Sinan was puzzled. "Why aren't you eating?"

Zhou Yuehan swallowed and said, "We're waiting for you and Dad to eat together."

Sinan smiled. "Silly kids, go get some bowls and eat."

Zhou Yuehan blushed, then quickly patted his face, straightened his small face, and ran into the kitchen as if escaping smoke.

The two of them scooped rice into their bowls with spoons. Zhou Yuehan looked at the fragrant steamed rice, pressing it into his bowl spoon by spoon. He could barely contain it before finally bringing it to his mouth.

As he took a bite of the braised pork ribs, the aroma nearly overwhelmed him, and he almost swallowed his tongue. With each mouthful of rice and meat, the sauce-soaked rice was incredibly delicious, not the least bit greasy.

Seeing the children unable to stop eating, it was evident how skilled Sinan was in the kitchen. Even the neighbor's dog was drooling. He took a few quick sniffs and stood up. "Mom, I want to go play with Yao Yao."

His mother gave him a stern glare. "What are you going over there for so late? Are you afraid they won't know you're just going for a free meal? Hurry up, eat your food and go to bed."

She then dropped a piece of greasy residue into his bowl.

Although she said this, Auntie Zhang sighed inwardly. The aroma from the Zhou family's house was so enticing all the time that it made her mouth water.

Stone picked at the oily residue in his bowl, feeling absolutely no appetite. Ever since he tasted Auntie Sinan's cooking, Grandma's meals just didn't taste as good anymore. He wondered when he would have another chance to eat Auntie Sinan's cooking.

"Sigh~" Stone sighed again, propping his chin up with his hand.

Because she was going home, Sinan woke up quite early in the morning. She bathed Yao Yao, changed her into a new outfit, and tied a few small ponytails in her hair. She adorned her with pretty hair clips and poured leftover food into a large yellow bowl, waiting for Zhou Yueshen to return so they could set off.

Zhou Yueshen was leaving early today, around 8 o'clock. Seeing that it was still early, Sinan made some milk for Yao Yao to drink. It not only replenished her hydration but also provided nutrition. Children grow fast, and in just a few days, one could notice significant changes.

Now dressed in the little dress she had bought, Yao Yao looked even more stylish than the city kids. Holding her milk bottle, she couldn't have looked any cuter.

When Zhou Yueshen returned, this was the scene he walked into: Yao Yao sitting on the bed drinking milk from her bottle, while Sinan stood in front of the wardrobe mirror putting on earrings. She was wearing casual clothes and tight jeans, appearing modest but with a great body. From the side, her waist was slim and her legs long. Her hair, slightly curled, was tied up high at the back of her head, with some stray strands framing her face.
