The jade pendant, though not of the finest quality, was still quite valuable. It didn't seem like something an ordinary rural woman like Aunt Liu could afford. Instinctively, the officers looked towards Sinian. After all, she was the only one present who seemed capable of owning such an item and also knew Aunt Liu.

"Miss Si, is this your jade pendant?" one of the officers asked.

Sinian glanced at it and shook her head, "No, it's not mine. I don't have a jade pendant like this."

She found it strange. Aunt Liu had just been released from custody; how did she suddenly acquire this pendant? And it was clearly obtained after her release; otherwise, the police would have confiscated it earlier.

"Not yours?" The officer thought he might have made a mistake.

But the next moment, a low and cold voice spoke up, "This is Zhou Tingting's jade pendant. My mother gave it to her before she passed away." It was Zhou Yueshen.

Sinian looked at Zhou Yueshen in astonishment.

Zhou Yueshen's expression remained calm, his tone even, seemingly not too surprised by this turn of events.

The officer was stunned, "What's going on? Aunt Liu was just bailed out by Zhou Tingting a few days ago, and now, in just two days, she's stolen something again? What kind of person is she? She just promised not to steal anymore. Clearly, she's a repeat offender."

If they let her go again and someone else got robbed, they would be partly responsible. Aunt Liu had dug herself into an even deeper hole.

"Comrade Zhou, do you want it back?" the officer asked Zhou Yueshen.

Zhou Yueshen's voice was cool, almost chilly, "Let Zhou Tingting come and collect it herself."

The officer paused, nodded, and turned to inform Zhou Tingting.

Zhou Tingting was still rummaging through her belongings, her heart pounding as she looked at her mother-in-law's mocking face. She felt anxious but had to maintain the appearance of searching. Just then, the home phone rang, breaking the silence. She hurried over to answer it.

"Who's this?"

"Is this Miss Zhou Tingting? We're from the Public Security Bureau."

Glancing at her mother-in-law, Zhou Tingting responded, "Yes?"

"We found a jade pendant necklace in Liu Chunhua's pocket. Your brother says it belongs to you. You need to come and claim it."

"What, what did you say?"

Her mind went blank for a moment—

Sinian and Zhou Yueshen left the Public Security Bureau in the afternoon. The weather outside was unpredictable, with dark clouds gathering, indicating rain was imminent.

Sinian followed behind Zhou Yueshen like a little tail, curious, "I wonder what will happen to Aunt Liu now."

Zhou Yueshen thought she was worried that Liu Aunt might come looking for trouble later, and said softly, "She won't be out that soon. Don't worry."

Sinian responded and noticed he wasn't heading towards the train station. She quickly picked up her pace to catch up, "Where are we going?"

"To pick up the motorcycle," Zhou Yueshen replied coldly, striding ahead with a long and steady gait.

His steps were firm and fast. Sinian took a deep breath. Just as she was about to catch up, Zhou Yueshen suddenly slowed down.

Following him like this, they didn't speak much.

Until he stopped in front of an auto repair shop.

Parked at the entrance was a sleek motorcycle, shining brightly after a thorough cleaning. It was a second-generation Honda King, a 125cc twin-cylinder. The quality was top-notch, and in this era, riding this bike was no less prestigious than driving a Passat in the future.

The repairman, who was carefully wiping the motorcycle, quickly walked over. "Boss, you're here!"

Zhou Yueshen nodded slightly, "Is the modification done?"

"Of course! Trust me, I'm good at what I do!" The repairman, with his sleeves rolled up and wearing an apron stained with grease, had a chubby figure but was quite likable.

Sinian stared at him curiously, "Who's this?"

Seeing Sinian peeking out behind Zhou Yueshen, the chubby repairman's eyes widened.

What did he miss? How come he hadn't seen him for a month, and now the boss even had a woman with him? Didn't he hear that there was a woman who didn't want to marry him before? Who is this new woman?

Zhou Yueshen glanced at Sinian behind him and simply said, "Your sister-in-law."

The chubby repairman was stunned, "You got married?" His face was full of surprise.

Zhou Yueshen replied, "Yes, but we haven't registered yet. Wedding is on October 1st."

"Ha?" The chubby repairman looked confused, "Is it true?" He found it hard to believe that such a beautiful woman would be interested in his boss.

Of course, it wasn't that he thought poorly of his boss. It was just that his situation was indeed complicated, and most girls wouldn't accept it.

Especially such a beautiful woman, they would instinctively think he had ulterior motives.

The chubby repairman sized up Sinian, his eyes revealing a hint of concern. He was worried that she might act like the previous woman and do something drastic. His boss had it tough!

Zhou Yueshen cast a cold glance at him. He didn't want to say anything, but considering Sinian was right there, he patiently replied, "Yes."

After dropping such shocking news on the chubby repairman, Zhou Yueshen casually grabbed the motorcycle keys and a green helmet, handing it over to Sinian.

Holding the green helmet in her hands, Sinian hesitated and joked, "You're making me wear a green hat?" (In Chinese slang, "wearing a green hat" means a man's wife is cheating on him.)

Zhou Yueshen: "..."

"Put it on for safety," he finally spoke after a pause.

Although Sinian was a bit disdainful of the green helmet, she still put it on. She was unfamiliar with the old-style helmet buckle and fumbled for a while without fastening it. Just as she was considering asking for help, the man's tall figure leaned over, and a pair of large hands reached out to her. With a few swift motions, he fastened the buckle. His rough fingertips accidentally brushed against her soft, smooth chin and quickly pulled back as if shocked.

Before Sinian could react, the man had already swung his leg over and mounted the motorcycle. Gripping the handlebars, he said in a deep voice, "Get on."

Although this helmet was not as advanced as the futuristic high-end safety helmets, Sinian stared at his broad and solid back. She wasn't sure what it would feel like to touch it, but it must feel very secure.
