Ivy Diaz

It's Tuesday morning and I'm on my way to school.

I walk through the doors and laughter immediately hits my ears.

I turn the corner and my eyes widen at what I see.

Jason has Kai pushed up against the lockers while people are laughing and whispering.

"Listen here you little slut! Leave Ivy alone, got it?!" He shouts at her.

She doesn't say anything.

I don't know why she isn't doing something about it.

I know she can fight.

I've seen it.

I decide to walk up to them as people stare.

"Jason, get the fuck off her and leave her alone" I glare at him.

He turns to me.

"Why the fuck do you even care about her huh!?" He asks.

I don't answer.

Instead, I raise my fist and land a punch right on his jaw.

"I said...leave. Her. Alone." I say lowly.

I then look at her and she has a bruised eye and a cut lip.

"Did you hit her!?"

"No! I didn't fucking touch her!"

"Jason I swear to Go-"

I'm cut off by a tug on my wrist and someone pulling me away and into the bathrooms.

"Kai what are you doi-"

"Ivy"

I stop.

"Yeah?"

"It's wasn't him okay?" She whispers staring into my eyes.

"Then who? You left my house last nigh-"

Wait...

"Kai did someone hurt you on your way home?"

"What? No"

"Then who!?"

She sighs, "it doesn't matter"

"Doesn't ma- yes it does!"

"Oh for fucks sake Ivy! Why do you even care!?" She shouts.

"Because I do!"

"We've never even spoken to each other Ivy! Until yesterday you didn't care!"

"Look I'm sorry okay!? I ju-I just want to make sure you're okay"

She chuckles.

"What?"

"Ivy we'll hang out for what? 3-4 days before you get sick of me"

"Kai that's not tr-"

"Yes it is" she answers as she leans back on the wall and puts her hands on her face, rubbing it in frustration.

"Kai"

She doesn't look at me.

"Kai" I mumble now standing right in front of her.

"What Ivy?"

"I do care about you okay? I really do"

She looks down at me.

"You can't care about someone you don't know"

"Well then tell me about you"

"Theres not much to tell"
