Ivy Diaz

Thursday.

Kai has to go home today.

We just finished school and I'm currently driving her back to her place.

She said her dad would be home in 1-2 hours.

And she's gotta clean the house before he gets home.

"You sure you don't want me to stay and help?" I ask as we pull up to the apartment building.

"Mhm"

I sigh, "Kai..."

"Ivy just stop, you can't do anything about it" she turns to face me.

I look down, "I know that...but you can't just expect me to be okay with letting you go in there knowing damn well you're gonna get beat"

"I know" she whispers.

"But hey, I promise I'll be okay...maybe a few scratches and bruises but I'll be fine"

"You trying to convince me or you?" I mumble with attitude.

She doesn't answer, but she does say my name.

"What?" I ask softly.

"I love you, and I'll see you at school tomorrow" she then kisses me.

"I love you too" I slightly smile.

She pecks my lips one more time before getting out of the car and walking in.

'She can't live there anymore' I think To myself as I drive home.

It's now Friday morning and I'm getting ready for school.

After I finished putting a little bit of makeup on I get dressed.

But while I slide my shorts on I stop and look at my thigh.

The initial of her first name, and then the whole of her last name.

I blush at the memory of her doing it.

After I get my shorts on I put the rest of the outfit on.

I'm also wearing my necklace that matches with Kai's.

It may be silver and not exactly matching the outfit but who cares? I'm never taking it off.

Once doing a few other things, I leave for school on my skateboard.

After I grab stuff from my locker I look to my left and see Kai waking down the hallway.

Her head is down like always and her hands are hidden in the pockets or her sweatpants.

"Hey baby" I smile walking up to her.

"Oh hey, love" she looks up at my voice.

I frown at the sight.

Her eye is bruised, not swollen, but bruised.
