"Tu as menti," Gia snapped, angrily. [French | You lied].

I pinched my nose, trying to not explode at her while standing inside a quiet bookstore as Mona roamed the shelves a few yards away.

I had said it was a work call. I don't know why I felt the need to explain myself at all, as I'm sure she didn't care. But I wanted Mona to know it wasn't as important as she was right now, just a necessary call to answer regardless.

It was stupid.

"Je ne peux pas continuer à faire ça. Tu sais que je tiens à toi, mais elle compte aussi beaucoup pour moi. Je ne veux plus rien de sexuel entre nous," I explained, keeping my voice even and unbothered just in case Mona was eavesdropping. [French | I can't keep doing this. You know I care about you, but she means a lot to me as well. I don't want anything sexual between us anymore].

I heard a breaking sound coming from the other end, which I assumed was Gia's purposeful doing. "L'amour vous a rendu faible et ennuyeux." [French | Love has made you weak and boring.]

"Je ne suis pas amoureux. Je suis juste une bonne personnel." [I'm not in love. I'm just being a good person.]

"Je doute que. Appelle-moi quand tu ne l'aimes plus." [I doubt that. Call me when you don't love her anymore.]

Gia hung up before I could say anything else, but there wasn't more to say anyway. I understand why she's acting this way. Every girl I've been almost seriously involved with in the past she never had to worry about because we always ended up breaking up.

Not saying I'm trying to be involved with Mona. It's just that she can't believe I'm actually making any efforts to do anything with a girl aside from fuck her.

I can't blame Gia, but that doesn't make her any less fucking annoying.

"You look stressed," Mona commented, though the caring words were deluded by the smug look on her face.
