Serena's POV
"Mother, father please stop crying. Trust me, I can handle everything. Even if I get killed, at least I won't be a sexual object of the king!" I shouted as the neighbours and my relatives had gathered to provide emotional strength to my parents. They all feared my death.
I had no idea but to wait for my death. Relatives criticised my father for making me so bold and outspoken. Compared to the other women in the society. They scolded my father for not getting me married at a young age, unlike other girls of my age.
"I am proud of my daughter for what she is. She is brave to take a stand for herself and I admire her for that!" said my father in midst of the sobs.
My brother somehow solicited some rifles from his friends who belonged to the army. He was planning to shoot the vazir in case they tried to harm me.
Suddenly we all heard the voice of many horses and gunfire. And we knew that the trouble had arrived.
My parents asked me to stay inside the house while everyone went outside the house. Perhaps they were planning to plead the mercy for my life.
