"Zoey, you understand that we're not coming back. We need to pack everything." I explain to my sister as I open my suitcase.

"Well, not never.."

"Zoey, we're going to Ohio. Do you know how far that is? We aren't going to be visiting Philly or Dad again for a long time. You need to pack every last thing."

I feel tears well up in my eyes, but lucky for me I scrunch my eyes before Zoey or anyone else can notice. Not that anyone else is here, but you never know.

"Don't be sad though, we will have much more space, and we won't have to listen to the screaming anymore."

How am I telling my sister not to be sad as I am holding tears back myself?...

Then it hits me, I need to call my best friend, Evan.

We have been friends since the third grade when I started playing basketball competitively. We were put on the same travel team and ever since we've been like brothers.

"Hey, Ah share!" Evan greets with our usual nickname thing.

"Evan.."

"Heehem!" Evan signals me to do it back.

"Evan.." my voice croaks.

....

"Fine! Eh von! Happy? Listen, Dude. I have some news.."

"Ok. What is it?" Evan asks.

"Well,..you won't be happy."

"YOU'RE NOT TRYING OUT FOR BASKETBALL?!"

"No!" wait, actually yes....If I won't be here then...shoot.

"What is it then?"

I sigh.

"I'm moving to Ohio..."

my hand shakes.

"Evan?"

"You're moving to Ohio! Why?!"

I sigh again.

"The rents yo. Mom wants out, and she wants us out too."

"Oh my goodness. I mean, I think my brother knows some kids at OSU."

"There's no use, Man... I'm pretty sure we are no where near Columbus."

I hear the hurt in Evan's voice.

"Wow. Life will be really weird without you, Man."

I smile as tears start to fill my eyes again.

"Yep." Is all I can manage to croak out without crying.

"Man, I remember when we first met."

"Please don't try to reminisce, that's going to make it-"

"You were the shortest one, now you're taller than me...actually wait...wait how tall are you again?"

"Evan-"

"Right, right, five nine..."

I shake my head. This is just making it harder for both of us!

"I remember when we worked together for the science fair in seventh grade. When we made that model torpedo remember?"

I cringe remembering how it was supposed to fire off, yet totally pathetically did not.

"I can never forget that." I roll my eyes. This time intentionally.

"And...and..I remember when I went to your bar mitzvah."

"Which was the day after the torpedo incident." I point out.
