A New Dawn (Complete)

It's been three months since the wedding. When I came back to work, there were a lot of rumours about my ended wedding ranging from me cheating,  to Johnson cheating and many other things. I just learnt to ignore them.

I walked into my office and slumped into my chair. I should really quit. Mr Chikwem promised me that I'll be managing the hotel soon but he has to employ a good assistant and I'm sure he hasn't made any effort into finding a replacement. I wanted to do it myself but he, being the tricky man that he is, said he didn't want to add more workload to what I already have so he would do it himself. I know he's stalling. He doesn't want to let me go.

I checked the time only to realize that it was almost 3pm. We've been in this meeting for up to six hours and I'm starving. I quickly looked through my schedule to see that I had a brief meeting by 4pm and I was lucky that I had sorted out all the necessary documents for this meeting. I quickly picked up my purse and told Mr Chikwem that I was going for lunch. As I stepped out of his office, I saw Ralph at my door.

"Hi" I smiled as I walked towards him and gave him a short hug.

Since the kiss at his place, he had given me the space I asked for. We still hung out and all but he didn't make sexual comments and he was obviously trying to control himself. I, on the other hand, wanted him to loose control so whenever we were hanging out or we were supposed to be anywhere together, I always found a way to tease him either with my dressing or by rubbing myself against him which were all 'accidental' by the way.

He can't just kiss me like that and decide to give me space. Craze dey worry am (he's crazy)

"Hey. I've been here a couple of times but you weren't around" he replied.

"Yeah. Been in a meeting since ten o'clock and right now I'm tired and starving" I whined

"Good. Coz I'm hungry too. Let's go eat" he replied

"Sure. But we have to be back early. I have another meeting by 4pm" I stated as we made our way out

"Seriously? I feel like you you should be the highest paid in this company" he replied making me laugh

"Right? Boss even promised to send me to the hotel as the overall manager there but he has to find an assistant first" I rolled my eyes

"That is great!" He exclaimed

"I know but I'm not so excited though. It means more work to handle and all that" I shrugged as we walked into the parking lot

"Yes. That is a lot of work but I feel like you can easily assign it to someone. You might even get your own assistant" he replied

"Having my own assistant doesn't sound bad" I mused and we got into his car

"True" he replied and started the car

"If only boss will make an effort in finding a new assistant. He promised to get a new person but he has been stalling. I even wanted to help him, at least I'll carry out the interview but he's been saying that he doesn't want to stress me. I'm already stressed" I stated and Ralph laughed

"Maybe you should talk to him about it y'know" he glanced at me then back at the road

"True. I'll just threaten him with quitting and I'll get my way" I beamed

"You are terrible" he replied

"I know" I replied with a smile.

The rest of the drive was silent. We got to a fast food not far from the office. We walked in and sat down. We made our orders and we waited for our food.

"Have you spoken to Johnson yet?" Ralph asked and I sighed

"Yes. I actually spoke to him last week. I went to his office since he wasn't letting me into his house" I replied and trailed my legs against his under the table. Immediately he groaned
