Don Rodrigo d'Almondara
Husband of Elvira d'Almondara, father of Diego and Salvador d'Almondara, brother of Alessandro d'Almondara, Esperanza d'Almondara and Julio d'Almondara. His parents are deceased. He is part of the Catalan gentry who does not attend the court of Spain but receives the Royal Rent from which his family has benefited for several generations. Although he is one of the local notables who preserve their privileges and personal position, his conservative-progressive orientation places him as a pioneer compared to his peers. As the eldest son, he received from his parents, as a wedding gift, the estate of Cuevas-Blancas.
Doña Elvira d'Almondara
Wife of Rodrigo d'Almondara, daughter of Don and Doña Campos del Azul y Riera, mother of Diego d'Almondara and Salvador d'Almondara. Originally from Barcelona, this flirtatious city dweller regrets not going to the King's court and social gatherings.

Alessandro d'Almondara

Esperanza d'Almondara
Last born of the siblings. Sister of Rodrigo d'Almondara, Alessandro d'Almondara and Julio d'Almondara. Died a little before her eighteenth birthday.
Diego d'Almondara
Son of Rodrigo d'Almondara and Elvira d'Almondara, elder brother of Salvador d'Almondara. As the eldest son, it is to him that the domain of Cuevas-Blancas will revert to the death of his parents. Salvador d'Almondara
Son of Rodrigo d'Almondara and Elvira d'Almondara, younger brother of Diego d'Almondara. His position as a cadet disturbs him in his need for paternal attention and his desire for training in the profession of manager. Friendly and very present, he claims the same education as his elder without jealousy or malice.
Soledad d'Almondara
Daughter of the former farrier of the domain converted into the management of an inn, she knows the children of Almondara from having worked with them during childhood. She becomes the wife of Salvador d'Almondara after the announcement of her pregnancy.
