3rd person POV

It was around 3 o' clock in the afternoon on a stormy London day. Mr. and Mrs. Holmes sat in their respective places - Sherlock typing away at the desk and (y/n) reading her book. Clouds hung darkly outside the window, and a clap of thunder shattered the sound barrier of the sky.

"Weatherman never said anything about a thunderstorm today," commented (y/n), as she reached for her plugged in phone.

"Weathermen are right only 1% of the time," stated Sherlock, eyes glued to a website that listed different poisonous plants that when inhaled made people's nose bleed.

"And when is that 1%?"

"When they're standing outside in a foot of snow with flakes still falling and they say 'It's snowing in London!'"

(Y/n) laughed, shaking her head at her husband. Suddenly the room lit up with white light. "Lightning!" she announced, although Sherlock had obviously seen it.

"Oh that was lightning? I just thought it was a group of tourists snapping another picture," remarked Sherlock. (Y/n) ignored his sarcasm and went back to scanning the weather reports for the upcoming week.

And just as she placed her thumb back on her phone screen to scroll through the internet, Sherlock placed his fingers on the keyboard to search up plants that made eyes bleed. At that moment a strike of lightning fit itself through the fireplace of 221B, finding the electrical socket that both the phone and computer was plugged into, and did its job.

(Y/n) POV

You dropped your phone into your lap and gasped - you had been shocked. At the same time, Sherlock had jumped back from the keyboard and was now studying his fingertips. "What was that?" he asked, looking at you.

"An electric shock. Happens when a person comes into contact with an electrical energy source," you rattled off. You covered your mouth, not sure where that random fact of information had come from. Sherlock gave you a weird look. His phone rang and it momentarily divided his attention, leaving you to your thoughts on kinesthetic energy. But how the hell am I having thoughts about something I know nothing about? you thought as more random information on energy and equations floated through your brain. You grabbed your head, for once actually afraid that you might have more knowledge than you wanted.

"I'll be there in five minutes Gale," said Sherlock. He stood up, grabbing his coat from the rack and throwing you yours. "Date night, let's go."

"But isn't it a case?"

"Yes, which is why I'm taking you. It's been awhile since we've gone out so I figured I would make it up to you by taking you out on a better date than usual."

"Ah yes," you sighed, brushing your shoulder against him as you beat him out the door, "nothing beats caution tape and dead bodies."

Sherlock POV

Once he arrived at the crime scene, Sherlock hurried over to where the blue lights punctured the night, leaving his wife to stumble behind. Lestrade met him at the tape, lifting it up and letting him under. "Victim is a 25 year old male. Multiple wounds found on his head, but not from a knife. They're perfect circles. No idea what it could be from."
