Advice 14: A False Gospel

"For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, will multiply teachers for themselves because they have an itch to hear what they want to hear."

There are times where we might sugar coat the gospel or try to make it sound a certain way in order to not offend anyone. I know I've been guilty of doing this many times and it is not right at all. We need to leave people-pleasing behind and focus on spreading the truth in love. Don't be harsh but also don't spread a false gospel. We need to ask God to help us find balance. There will come a time when certain people might attempt to preach to us a different Jesus but we have to be strong and put our faith in Christ so that we do not fall for it. Whenever you're talking to someone about the gospel put yourself in their shoes. Remind yourself of how you were before you came to Christ. When you start to see things from their perspective it's so much easier to talk to them with love and respect and to have empathy for them. Not everyone grew up Christian so let's never assume that people should just know stuff about Christianity. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). God loves you❤️
