A/N: Can I just say.... Awww... Garrett. xD

"You know, you don't have to stalk perfectly good men when there were two back at the castle," Garrett said to the backs of Sam and Sylvia. He glanced at me and smirked. "Oh and Thomas."

I caught Sam as she fell and scowled at Garrett. "Very funny," I said, sarcastically. I looked down to make sure that my mate was all right and couldn't help but take a sharp intake of air.

Her eyes were wide with fright, something that I haven't seen since she came back into my life. Her lips were parted a little, and she took a sharp intake of air also before letting it out. Her hands gripped my arms, tightly, but I didn't care about the pain.

I couldn't help but offer her a small smile, trying to keep my Wolf at bay and not mark her as mine. "Hi," I whispered, listening to her heart slow down to a normal pace.

A corner of her lip flickered upward into a smile. She didn't say a word but rather looked at my lips. Her eyes swirled with emotions from love to doubt, and I couldn't help but feel my heart break because I knew that I was the reason as to why she felt like this.

"Show yourselves," someone growled, breaking whatever spark was between us. "I know we have been followed for some time."

Sam quickly got out of my arms, grabbed her bag, and walked from behind the plant. Her whole body was relaxed, but I knew that she was on edge, ready to protect us from harm. Her face became a mask and didn't show any emotion like the trained warrior she was.

I took a deep breath in and let it out before following her from behind the plant. I was surprised to see Alpha Jack's Beta standing in front of me with some guy standing in front of him.

"Kirk," Sam said, her voice clipped. She sent his... mate(?) an annoyed look before again looking at the beta. "Explain."

Kirk licked his lips and shifted on his feet. "Hey, Sam," he said. He cleared his throat and looked anywhere except her before she cleared her throat. "How are you? Why are you here? Did Jack send you here?"

"I am at the kingdom for the meeting because the Beta wasn't at the pack house when he was supposed to be," she replied. She folded her arms across her chest and stared at him, trying to get a read on him. "And, the Alpha couldn't go because his child was sick."

Kirk looked down and cleared his throat. Guilt was written all over his face, and he didn't say a word.

"Look, I don't know who the fuck you are, but-"

"I am the Gamma of the pack that we come from," Sam said, interrupting the other male. "And, I suggest you stand down, Warrior, before I make you." She bared her teeth, and I could feel her annoyance from here.

"Now, let's not fight," Garrett butted in. He nudged Sam back, causing her to send an annoyed look to him. "I would like to kick Kirk's ass for stressing you out more than usual, Sam, but it would be best if we finish whatever shopping that you ladies were doing and get my car back to the palace." He peered at the bag in Sam's hand. "And, I would love to see what you got, Miss I-Don't-Do-Victoria's-Secret."

Sam's face turned slightly red, causing Cason and Kirk to snicker. She flashed them a glare before looking at Kirk. "Explain. Now."

Kirk shifted on his feet and cleared his throat. He was nervous of this female, and to be honest, I sort of pitied him. I knew what it was like to be under Sam's hard gaze, and I hadn't liked it one bit. "I thought that... I would be kicked out..." he said, finally. "And my brother would be given my position..."

Sam huffed and relaxed her body, showing them that she wasn't a threat. She rubbed the bridge of her nose and shook her head. "I am disappointed in you, Kirk Williamson," she said, causing the other male to flinch and look down. "You of all people knew that the pack accepted mates of the same gender. We had what? Almost twenty couples of the same sex come into our pack last year?"

"Yes, but they were no-"

"It doesn't matter if they did not hold a position of the top three people," she interrupted. "They came because they found out that it was safe there."

"It's safe at my pack, too," his mate said. "And, he did not know what his friends would think."

"Which is why I really want to punch him in the face right now," Sam replied. She held up her hand, stopping the mate from talking. "Because I am one of his friends or thought I was."

"You're family, Sammy," Kirk said. He took a deep breath and sighed, looking up at her. "And, I am sorry for stressing you out." He cleared his throat and grabbed his mate's hand. "Joshua, the girl that threatened me is Sam." He gestured to Garrett. "That's Garrett." He pointed to me. "That idiot is Thomas." He nodded to Cason. "And that is Prince Cason, whom I think you already knew that." He smiled at Sylvia. "And, I don't think we have met."

"That's Sylvia, Garrett's mate," Sam said. "I know, I was shocked, too."

"Hey," Garrett said.

"Does..." Kirk cleared his throat and shifted on his feet. Worry filled his eyes, and I could see a bit of fear in them.

"Yes he does," Sam said. Her phone started to ring, causing her to smirk. "And, he is calling right now."
