The One Night Dance

The stars danced as I saw you,
the ground spun.
The moon asked the sun to dance,
and I fell in love.

The music was only in my head,
yet you danced to the same beat,
left, left, right, right, left,
round and round in circles, dizzy on my feet,

We stayed that way for hours,
swaying back and forth on our one night date,
my head against your shoulder,
your hand grazing my waist.

But as the night came to an end,
and the sun began to shine,
you slowly faded away,
leaving my with only the memories in my mind.

I haven't seen you since that day,
yet only in my dreams,
but if I ever see you again,
Will you still dance with me?
