Isabella's P.O.V

*Two hours later*

I am still at the fucking ball, a fact I am hating more and more as each minute passes. These fake assholes come up to me and gush about my beauty or dress. I hate them all. The worst part is that I had a gut feeling that something was going to happen. I had not even seen my sperm donor all night or my birth giver. I am no longer gracing them with the titles mom and dad at this point. Why would he miss it? I know that he is planning something, but what? I cannot even wander because Carson won't budge.

Suddenly, a scream pierces through the music which is abruptly cut off. I jump up just in time to hear a warning from a warrior,

"ROGUES!" Shit, double shit and triple shit. I smelled the air, it wasn't just rogues, but also someone else for them to be this coordinated. With that thought, we see hundreds of rogues, coming over the hill. I hike up my dress in place. Honestly, would I ever go out in something I could not fight in. I pull out two guns and a silver knife. People look at me slightly alarmed. I tell them annoyed,

"At least I have weapons. We are outnumbered here, so we need every advantage yet." That is the last time I speak before the rogues are upon us. Everyone but my pack shifts. Even now, the risk of revealing ourselves is too much. That means Carson won't leave my side as we fight. I dodge, kick and punch, shooting all enemies. I fought like a demon out of hell. At one point, I caught several people staring in awe. Though it was still not enough, we were outnumbered. I yell out,

"I want to speak with your leader." I am not shitting you, all the rogues turned towards me. It was funny that my voice held so much power. I see a rogue shift and approach me while the others stop fighting. I ask him,

"Who are you? What do you want?" The disgusting man smirked at me and answered,

"Jax is my name and I want you." Carson growls at him loudly.

"I already have a mate, so what do you really want?"

"Well, I'm not in charge here. Attack!" It had been a trick to get close to Carson and I. The bastard! I shot him quickly between the eyes. The idiot had not even seen that I had a gun. I continued fighting until someone tackled me from behind. They were not using lethal force around me, strange. Well, that was an advantage for me and a disadvantage for him. He pinned me on the ground and I brought up my knee where the sun doesn't shine. The man immediately let go of my hand and I stabbed him in the heart with a silver knife. Serves him right! I dodge and turn before shooting the rogue that was on top of Carson. I spot Alex and Elina close by. I feel the others through the pack bond, and know that they are not hurt. Elina mind-links me,

"I am so happy that we listened to you and brought our guns." I grin,

"You had even said that I was overreacting."

"Well, you weren't."

"Yeah, be grateful." I break off the connection to focus on fighting. I was still smirking. Before we left, I forced all of my pack to harm themselves to the teeth. Our heels could become wolfsbane laced daggers. I had two silver knives and two guns with silver bullets strapped to my thighs. And another small dagger in my hair with extra bullets at my ankles. I loved long dresses for a reason! I mean if I cannot fight in wolf form, make it hard for people to take me down in human form.

Our group was not winning the fight, not by a long shot. I looked around quickly. No Alphas or Lunas were dead, but plenty of regular bodyguards or warriors were. Such a waste of life! I was going to find out who was behind it if it is the last thing I do. I am really angry which meant I fought with more intensity. Then, I suddenly collapsed as pain went through me. I knew what it meant. One of my pack was dying or dead.

I needed to get to her!
