The two servants cleaning the hallway together chitchatted. They were not worried that Jungkook would overhear them. After all, he never cared about what others talked about anyway.
Jungkook, his lips shut tight, walked past the two of them.
The maid quickly shut up and, when Jungkook had gotten further away, went back to their discussion in a low voice. "Just you wait. I'm sure she will have many suitors after the banquet......"
There were three little black clouds with lightning in the indicator over Jungkook's head. Unfortunately, Lisa wasn't here and nobody was there to see it.
Sitting in front of his desk, he had a blank look on him. His chest stuffy and felt uncomfortable.
They were saying that Lili has money now and would leave him.
They said it was not good that he stayed at home all day long, every day.
They also said that many people would fight him over Lili.
Jungkook lowered his eyes and his lips were shut tightly. After a long while, he stood up and stopped reading even his favorite book.
Mother Jeon was drinking tea inside the living room when she, suddenly, saw a tall and red silhouette approaching her.
"Kook, how come you are coming downstairs?" asked Mother Jeon in surprise.
At this point in time, her son was usually inside the study and she would not go and disturb him.
Jungkook stood blankly in front of the couch, his head lowered, and he said slowly, "Look Lili, I."
Mother Jeon was so shocked that she had forgotten even about her etiquette. She also slipped and dropped her cup. She quickly put it down and her voice trembled a little. "Kook, you want to go look for Lili?"
Jungkook repeated himself, "Look Lili."
She couldn't remember how long it had been since her son had talked to her voluntarily like this and made requests. The last time he requested for anything was during his high school days when he asked to have a green house on the rooftop.
And now, he had just initiated a conversation with her and made a request.
Mother Jeon covered up her face emotionally. She took a few deep breathes but her voice was still shaking. "Lali had gone home with her grandfather and will be back in a few days."
"Look Lili." Jungkook insisted. If he didn't go looking for her soon, his Odd Big Sister would be taken away from him by someone else.
Mother Jeon's heart melted. Even if her son was asking for the moon in the water, she would try to get it for him. "Okay, we go look for Lali."
"When do you want to go looking for her?" Mother Jeon asked carefully.
Jungkook looked up and glanced over at his mother quickly. "Now. Now. Me."
Mother Jeon was both surprised and stunned. She was attempting to communication with him but she did not expect that he would actually respond to her.
She lightened up her voice more. "The Kim family's banquet is scheduled for tomorrow. She might not have the time to meet with you."
Jungkook pinched his lips shut a little and, after a long while, he said slowly, "Go banquet me."
Many would be fighting him over Lili at the banquet. He must be there to guard her.
Mother Jeon was both delighted and surprised when she got a response back from her son again. Her voice was filled with uncontrollable excitement. "Let's go. Mom will arrange for someone to accompany you."
If she didn't just have a surgery and should not be travelling, she would for sure go with him.
Mother Jeon did not want to miss out on any opportunities to communicate more with her son. Lord only knows that Jungkook had never said so much to her his entire life.
"Kook, if you like Lili, you go and bring her back. Girls liked to be doted on and wooed. You need to be nice to her." Mother Jeon could tell that her son was willing to talk to her only because of Lisa. As such, her topics too, would be around Lisa.
Jungkook listened to her quietly and glancing over at Mother Jeon from time to time.
Mother Jeon was even more delighted. Did that mean Jungkook actually heard what she was saying?
She reached out and wanted to pull her son to sit down next to her for more talk. He dodged her again the next second.
Mother Jeon was not disappointed at all. The fact that her son had responded back to her was already a huge step.
