Before Lisa took off from the Kim's, Old Mr. Kim had a very noticeable longing look on him. He even put on a long face purposefully, hoping that his granddaughter would stay for a few extra days to comfort him.
Lisa didn't know what to make of that. She suddenly understood why people always said that old people are like children.
Old Mr. Kim finally agreed to let her go after she promised him that she would visit with Jungkook from time to time
Once back at the Jeon's, Mother Jeon was very happy when she saw her son again. Her heart ached when she saw the wound on his forehead that was yet to heal.
Mother Jeon asked Lisa, "What happened to the culprit of the incident now?"
"He's in jail now, waiting for his sentencing." Lisa told Mother Jeon that no matter how much money they pay, there was no way the Kim's third branch would be able to get Kai out.
Old Mr. Kim had already said that they would follow the law. With Old Mr. Kim being on top of things, it wouldn't matter what the third branch tried.
All the other branches were quelled by this example. Even the ones who had spread rumors about Lisa in the past kept their heads low. They worried that Old Mr. Kim would find out that it was them who spread the rumors before.
Mother Jeon felt better after hearing what Lisa had told her. Had they gotten away with it, she would for certain have her husband go and take care of that person.
"It's Grandma's birthday tomorrow. You two get some rest and go over in good spirits tomorrow," said Mother Jeon with a smile.
Lisa nodded. She couldn't wait to go see Grandma.
Old Mrs. Lee's birthday banquet was held at the Song's residence.
Mother Jeon and Father Jeon went over to the Song's early in the day.
Lisa finished getting dressed and looked over at Jungkook, who had also gotten dressed.
He had put on a red suit and a black shirt that she had picked out for him instead of one of his floral shirts.
His fringes were covering his forehead, his nose tall. His thin lips were pinched shut slightly, and there was an indescribable coldness between his brows and eyes. Those, along with this height, made him handsome like a demon.
"You must follow me closely at the banquet. Don't be running around," Lisa told him. She worried that the little handsome fool would be seduced by someone else.
Jungkook looked at her attentively and acknowledged her.
Lisa noticed that ever since she had saved Grandma the other day, Jungkook had stopped lowering his head and avoided looking at people the way he used to.
Even though he would still avoid eye contact from time to time, Jungkook would only lower his eyes or look away, instead of lowering his head altogether.
There seemed to be more improvements.
That thought put a smile on Lisa's eyes. She looked forward to the day when he recovered.
"Let's go. We don't want to keep Grandma waiting." Lisa knew that Grandma liked Jungkook a lot, and she must want to see Jungkook as early as possible.
There were a lot of guests at Old Mrs. Lee's birthday banquet.
Everyone noticed that Old Mrs. Lee looked to be in very good spirits.
"Are Kook and his wife not here yet?" Old Mrs. Lee had already asked a few times.
"Mom, they are on their way already. They will be here shortly," said Mother Jeon with a smile on her face.
When her son's autism got worse, he barely ever left the house, never mind visiting his grandmother. It was only until recently when he had become better that she was comfortable having him attending his grandmother's birthday banquet.
"Mom, your favoritism toward Kook is too obvious." Sunmi was already used to her mother's favoritism toward Lu Shao.
"Grandma likes Cousin and not Yunho." Next to them, little chubby boy Jeong Yunho was also here for his grandmother's birthday banquet.
Ever since he was taught a lesson by Lisa, the little brat no longer dared to refer to Jungkook as a fool.
"Of course, Grandma likes you, but your cousin needs more love and caring." That was the reason that Grandma Song doted on Jungkook the most out of all of her grandchildren.
Having said that, Old Mrs. Lee caught sight of Jungkook who showed up at the door. She said happily, "Your cousin is here."
