Sure enough, she saw the old lady denying it loudly the next second. "Dai Hai was drunk last night. He didn't do anything! He passed out as soon as he got home."

The Old Madam's expression changed instantly when she saw Lisa sitting nearby. She smiled and greeted Lisa. "You are here too, grandniece. Old Grandma is begging you. Please help me, and speak to your grandfather. Your Third Uncle is innocent."

Having said that, her expression changed again. She dabbed the corners of her eyes with her sleeves where there were no tears.

Lisa found that comical. Did the Old Madam think that both she and Grandpa were fools?

Lisa was pretty and delicate and just looked like a softie and a pushover. Old Madam reached her hand over, wanting to grab Lisa's hands while she cried. "Your Third Uncle was drunk last night and was taken away. He had no idea what had happened. Grandma knows that you are a kind one. Hurry up and speak to your Grandpa. Grandma will forever be grateful to you."

The butler frowned. "Our Young Mistress knows nothing. Please don't drag her into this, Third Old Madam."

Lisa avoided Third Old Madam's hands, and her look was very cold. "I do not need your appreciation. If he had actively looked for someone to harm me, he should have been prepared that the truth would be uncovered."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Old Madam rebutted loudly.

"Just because you speak louder doesn't make you more right." Lisa looked at Old Madam coldly. "You wouldn't have such a guilty conscience if he was innocent."

Old Madam was stunned by Lisa's words. She had thought that Lisa was fair, quiet, and a total pushover.

Lisa did not care how awful Old Madam looked and went on to say, "Jungkook would be lying in the hospital and not sitting here right now if he wasn't lucky last night. Do you really think I will speak for someone who tried to kill me and who had almost gotten my husband killed?

Just the thought of how Jungkook was holding her tightly, protecting her, and ended up being hurt was more than enough to make Lisa wish death upon the person who was behind it!

To have her speak for him?

Lisa's only thought was that justice couldn't come fast enough.

Lisa said to Old Mr. Kim, "Grandpa, we will pursue this to the fullest extent of the law and will see to it that he is not let off lightly."

"Grandniece, you can't be so cold." Old Madam did not expect Lisa to be so willful.

Lisa was never a kind and soft type of person.

Snickering, she said, "You should be glad that my husband only sustained minor injuries. Otherwise, Third Uncle would be looking at a lot more than just jail time."

Naturally, Old Mr. Kim would go along with what his granddaughter said. "Right, we will make sure that he stays in jail."

Old Madam almost passed out when she heard that. "Big Brother, you can't do that. Dai Hai is your grandnephew......"

"So much ruckus this early in the morning. Have someone drag her out," said Old Mr. Kim to the butler.

"Yes, Sir."

Old Madam had wanted to keep on pleading, but two guards came and dragged her out before she had the opportunity to do so.

Old Mr. Kim gave the order to banish everyone from the third branch out of the Kim Corporation and severed all future ties with them. That was equivalent to getting rid of the entire side branch.

Old Mr. Kim had gone so far for the purpose of making an example out of them. There would be no good outcome for those who will try to come after his granddaughter.

After breakfast, Lisa and Jungkook sat to one side meekly, keeping Old Mr. Kim company while he drank tea.

Old Mr. Kim gave Jungkook a sharp look and asked his granddaughter directly, "Did you know about the marital contract between Jungkook and yourself?"

Lisa was stunned. She was not aware of that.
