Ch. 23- Prom

It was the night of the sixth form prom. Of course, Kate had accepted Alex's invitation to be her date to the prom, but the pair knew that it was just a gesture, they could not feasibly go to the prom together. Having said that, Alex still wanted to look her very best, as Kate would still be there overseeing the evening with a small group of other teachers.
Alex hadn't allowed Kate to see her dress, she wanted to keep it as a surprise for the evening. She had chosen a dark blue dress, which had a silver neck line, that dropped slightly to reveal a hint of cleavage - enough to intrigue, but not enough to be slutty. It was full length, and the bottom came up just short enough to reveal the silver glittery high heels she had splashed out on. Free hair had been tied back in a messy bun and she had blonde curls spiralling on either side of her face. Complete with natural make up, Alex looked stunning. She couldn't wait to see the look on Kate's face.
As she opened the door ready to leave, Alex's dad hugged and kissed her goodbye, wondering how so much time had flown by without him realising what a gorgeous young woman his daughter was turning into. Michelle drove Alex to school and dropped her off at the entrance, brimming with pride at her daughter. But all Alex wanted to do was find Kate.
The teachers had to dress up in formal attire too, and Kate found choosing a dress a difficult task. In the end Kate had selected a mid thigh length dress with full length lace arms (in black as that was the only rule the teachers had to adhere to). She had to get to school early in order to set up ready for the students to arrive. Alex wandered towards the English office, occasionally stopping to compliment people on how great they looked, but really it was all fake, no one could ever look as good as Kate was tonight.
