Alex picked up her gym clothes from the old wooden bench, and placed them in her bag. She sighed, and flinched at how loud it sounded in the quiet room.
The dim afternoon light was shining through the locker room windows. The smell of perfume lingered after the last few girls that had left. Old socks lay forgotten under some bench. It was always the same on Wednesdays.
Alex didn't really like being alone, if she's being honest.
It's surprising if you think about it. She is good at socializing, but in order to do that, she has to be alone a lot. Nobody would tell her anything about what's happening, which is why she has to stay behind to listen to what they say in secret.
Yeah it's mean, but what isn't mean in this world anymore?
That's not the only reason why she stays behind, waiting for everyone else to finish changing and showering before she does. The girls aren't that nice to her. Nobody at this school is nice to her friend group. Sometimes she misses the past, even if the past was... well...
Alex puts on her gray jacket, and throws her backpack over her shoulder. Now she can finally go home, alone... but well... home anyway.
The locker room door suddenly screeches open. Alex turns her head in surprise.
The person by the door enters with a smirk. Alex widens her eyes.
She takes one step backwards, and the other girl takes one forward. Alex gulps.
"What are you doing here?"

"I'm scared..."
"Don't be scared... once you get out of here you won't have to be scared anymore..."
"But what about you!... you will be scared..."
"As long a you are safe, I'm not scared"
...
"I can't do this... I can't leave you here like this..."
"You know nobody can leave blood row high... I have to cover for you... if you are safe I'm satisfied"
"Evelyn... please..."
"Listen to me Alex... I can survive this place... don't worry about me ok? Let's just spend this last moment together in peace... alright?"
