Jasmine's POV

'Time to go. Ben you take your group first.' A bark sounds in response, I hear the front door creak open and then the continuous patter of paws on the ground out side. One group gone, nine more to go.
I wait a few minutes before sending the next group off, until finally just me, Emily, Cassidy and Jake left. I signal to the others for us to go. For some reason something feels off, mostly how we managed to sneak the whole pack out with out anyone noticing. I mean, it's not like it was twenty people, there must have been at least three hundred, why don't I know this? I feel like it's something I should know, when we get back I'm gonna figure that out. If we get back. Our small group runs in the direction of everybody else, the same direction that I went last time. I close my eyes and smell the scent of my pack who just went though here. It makes me feel calm, it's not the exact word I would use, but there's no way to describe the feeling. It's the feeling of freedom.
We break out of the woods and onto the road, we follow along the edge of it to stay out of sight. When I catch sight of lights, I shift into my human form, walking along the road in my sports bra and a pair of sweat pants makes me think of before, when this was my life, hiding and running and walking around in my underwear. I sigh and Emily takes my hand, she squeezes it before turning her attention back to the road. As a part of the plan we agreed that the group leaders would take their group somewhere isolated and away from people, but to stay away from the woods. We also agreed that if anyone ran into trouble the group has to split up and run in as many different directions as possible, making sure that the wolves carrying children and teenagers that haven't shifted yet got away safely first. As we walk into the town, I notice the scents of our pack splitting up, all going to different areas, some in the direction of the school in that town, some going straight along the road and others in the other direction, hearing quiet voices coming from behind a near by building, I decide to investigate. As we approach the voices become more exited,
"Alpha, Luna, you made it." A man says, we smile at him,
"Who's group is this?" Emily asks, Riley steps out from amongst the group,
"It's mine." She says looking at her feet,
"Jake, stay here with them, I'll take Cassidy and Jas to get some directions back home." Jake nods his head and walks over to Riley, giving her a reassuring smile before walking into the crowd of people behind her. At the end of the street there's a gas station, the only building in town with people still in it, I walk inside and to the counter, the man behind it gives me a smile that had a bunch of undertones to it. His stench suddenly fills up the shop as he looks me up an down. Emily grabs my wrist as Cassidy steps in front of us.
"You seem like you could be a respectable person, but you have lost all chances of having respect from me." Cassidy says narrowing his eyes at the worker, he rolls his eyes and shrugs, instead of replying to the mans bad manners, Cassidy just asks how to get back to our home town.
"Follow the main road out of town, come to another town and turn left before going into it, forty minutes staying on that road, by car anyway." He says, Cassidy simply turns to Emily and I and ushers us out the door, the gross man sending a wink in my direction before he disappears out if view.
"We won't be able to make it their before light, but we should get moving, one person walking on the side of the road captures someone's attention, but a crowd of people this big is sure to cause some trouble." Emily says,
"Do we move in our beast forms then, Alpha?" Cassidy asks as we walk back towards the group where we left Jake.
"It would attract more attention, especially with the kids on their backs, but I think that we should just try and make it before anyone is out and about." She replies, he bows and nods his head, "You go ahead, Jas and I will round up the groups, we'll travel until light before we head into the woods, we leave in ten minutes." He bows again,
"Good luck, stay safe." I wrap my arms around his waist and pull him in for a hug,
"You too, Cas." He smiles and rubs my back a few times before heading off down the road at a steady running pace, I take a deep breath,
"Ready?" I ask, Emily smiles, she grabs me by the shoulders and pulls me in, our lips touch for what seem like the first time in ages, I smile into our kiss. Deciding to keep it brief I pull away, she smirks at me,
"Now I'm ready." She says before shifting, I run my hands through her shiny black fur, she rubs against my side like a cat, before pulling away and tilting her head to the sky, her howl echoes thought the town, several more respond and before I can even count to thirty, we are crowed by wolves and people alike.
"We move fast and quietly, at first light we move to the trees, we move out in two minutes. Jake, scout the area for anyone who we might have left behind." I command, Emily playfully shoves my side with her nose, I pat her side and she shoves me again. My instincts, or more so Lupus, wants me to play and push her back, but I don't. After a few more seconds Jake comes back with another two wolves, I shift and take off, signalling the start of our journey, we don't run at full speed for the sake of the wolves carrying others, but we move as fast as we can with out causing too much trouble.
Around half an hour later we are back in the familiar forest near our home, the sun slowly making it's way up over the trees. We finally break out of the trees and onto our land, a wave of relief washes over me, I drop to the ground and take in my surroundings, the familiar smells and sounds. I shift on the ground, my back pressed against the cold grass, Emily jumps on top of me, still in wolf form. I grab her by the neck, and pull her down and roll over, she shifts underneath me and grabs me back, a bunch of yells erupt from the crowd followed by a few wolf whistles, Emily and I laugh, I climb off her and sniff the air. Suddenly my blood runs cold,
"Cassidy isn't here." I say running out towards the road, once I reach the end of the drive I look around, I smell the air again, he just walked straight past, I shift and follow his scent. I stop on the edge of the road listening closely, I hear an unfamiliar rumble in the distance. I shift and chuckle when I see him at the end of the road on a fancy motorbike, he pulls over on the side of the road,
"Need a ride, Luna?" He asks with a smile, I climb on the back,
"And how did you afford this, Cas?" I ask as I wrap my arms around his waist,
"I didn't. The nice business man just let me take it." He says with a smile as he takes off down the road.
