Chapter 11

Emily's POV

I take a deep breath and listen to the low growls around me. I look towards the young wolf and start to feel bad, all they're doing is following their alphas orders, I say in the link,

'Try keep the deaths to an absolute minimum, only Kyle has to die. Okay everyone?' Everyone replies the same as always in a fight,

'Yes Alpha.' Finally Jas launches herself at a older grey wolf which sparks a chain reaction so everyone is fighting, including me. A black wolf, 3 quarters my size, tackles me to the ground, snapping at my neck, only missing by a couple of millimetres. I flip us over and bark in his face trying to get him to back off. Not listening he growls back, I keep my ground and keep eye contact. Out of nowhere I hear thumping of paws on the forest floor, eight of them, which means two wolves are running after each other. I look around to find Jas missing and I instantly know she's chasing after her brother. Being distracted the wolf from under me flips us and gets my shoulder with his paw making a deep gash, I let out a whimper,

'Someone help, please.' I say into the link and a few seconds later the weight is lifted off of me, I look up to find Abi straddling the wolf, not growling or barking, but making more of a purring noise.

'Weird.' Lily tells me, I listen to the thumping again, this time it's different. Louder, faster. It's a heart beat, in what seems like an hour, which is probably just a few seconds, it speeds up and then slows right down, right down to a stop. It doesn't come back, without realising it, I howl, like when I found my mate,but this time it's worse, I've lost her.
