Chapter 9

EMILY'S POV

Jasmine hasn't spoken since Abby said the message, she seems stressed by the way she's pacing pace back and forth our room, I have a feeling it was her brother that did it, but I'm not certain. I stand and place my hand on her back, she snaps around then breaks into tears. I wrap my arms around her waist and let her cry into my shoulder. Somehow during the embrace we went over to the bed. I'm sitting with her head in my lap, her eyes are closed and she's snoring lightly, which is kind of cute. I brush a few strands of her out of her face and continue to run my fingers though her long brown hair. Completely lost in our own world I didn't hear Ben, Jake and Nate walk in until Jake cleared his throat, I look up to see them looking worried, I gently pick up Jas's head and climb out from under her trying not to wake her. When I get close enough to the boys I whisper,
"What?"
"There's a visitor waiting for you in Dad's study." Jake says, him being like a brother to me meant that my father was a father figure to him because he grew up without one. I nod my head and walk out of the room, I stop and turn back to them even though they followed me,
"Can you stay with Jas for me, Nate?" I ask,
"Yes Alpha." he replies nodding his head,
"You can call me Emily." I say, I have a feeling he's going to be hanging around with us since him and Jas became fast friends, he smiles and walks back into my room. I continue back down the hall and enter my father's study, an older guy, not to old, mid to late twenties, is standing behind the desk, he's a pretty good looking guy, with dark brown hair and eyes, kind of like Jasmine's except darker, he looks up to meet my eyes and gives a small smirk,
'He looks a lot like Jas.' Lil says stretching the word 'a lot'. I let a growl out realising that it was Kyle, her brother. His smirk just grows when he hears my growl, he walks out from behind the desk and I stand my ground as he walks until he's a few inches from me, he looks me over and goes to touch my face, I growl real loud bearing my teeth, he looks a little shocked, but hides it with a chuckle. He walks around me, circling me. I can feel his eyes looking at me from head to toe, until he comes back to my front, he stops on my breasts for at least thirty seconds, I growl again feeling my eyes change. He looks up at my face and stares at my eyes, he slowly starts to shake his head,
"I thought that you could do better than her, but now I've seen you, I know your perfect for her, just a little mutt!" he says, I snap, which is something I only do in wolf form. I can feel myself getting more and more angry, not about calling me a mutt, but for calling Jas one. I look at him and see his eyes full of fear, I look down at my hands and see them slightly covered in black fur and claws coming out the ends of my fingers.
'Ben, something's happening!' I say, the door opens and I hear Ben gasp,
"Em?" he says, I turn around and he seems just as confused as me,
"What's happening to me?" I ask, but it comes out all growly and deepish. I walk over to the mirror that's hanging on the wall, what I see in the reflection is almost terrifying, I have ears, sharp teeth, claws and a tail. I have partial shifted which is impossible, the only time I've heard of it is in a legend that my dad used to tell me about. Not liking what I see, I fully shift. I walk over to Kyle and growl at him before leaving the study and going to my room, I see Nate sitting on the floor and Jas still sleeping peacefully on the bed. I bow my head to Nate telling him thanks and he bows back before he walks out of the room closing the door behind him. I shift back into human form, I feeling so drained, I just climb onto my bed with Jas, cuddling up to her. I slowly drift off to sleep, hoping that the boys will take care of Kyle before he becomes a problem.

JASMINE'S POV

I wake up feeling something warm pressed up against me, I open my eyes to see that it's pitch black outside. I roll over and wrap my arms around Emily's waist, I feel that she naked for some reason. I slowly get up and grab one of Ben's shirts that I had stolen for a pyjama shirt. I slowly and gently manoeuvre it on her without waking her, I then grab a pair of blue pyjama short shorts and put them on her trying not to look at the same time. I pull the sheets up over her and kiss her on the head. I slowly and quietly tiptoe down stairs and into the kitchen to get something to eat and drink. I open the fridge, deciding on milk, I get out the carton and pour a glass, I then open the cupboard and look around,
'Lucky Charms?' I ask Lupus,
'No.' he says,
'Why are you such a fussy son of a bitch?' I ask,
'I am a son of a bitch, your and my mother was a dog, which makes you a son of a bitch as well.' he replies,
'Yeah, I know. But I'm not a fussy son of a bitch like you.' I look around in the cupboard to find something to eat that will suit Lupus. I shift a bag of rice to the side and find a box of cookies. I quickly block out Lupus because I don't want to hear all of his yelling. I grab the whole box and my glass of milk and head back to my room, I freeze smelling an all to familiar smell.
"Hey sis, you gonna share?" he asks, I drop the glass of milk on the ground as well as the cookies,
"They're all yours!" I whisper yell to him as I run up the stairs and into my bedroom, locking the door behind me, as well as grabbing a chair and pushing it under the handle, I have no idea what that does, but everyone does it in the movies and it seems to work. I close my eyes and breathe slowly trying to calm myself, I focus on Ben's link in my head and yell,
'Ben, you mother fucker!'
'What!? Are you trying to wake the whole pack!' he replies,
'Why is he here!!?' I yell,
'Who?'
'Kyle!'
'He's supposed to be locked up, are you sure it was him?' He says obviously not in a good mood.
'Of course I'm sure, no one calls me 'sis' except for him.' I say,
'Are you sure it wasn't just your imagination?' he asks,
'Please Ben, can you wake up Jake and have a look, please?' I plea, I hear him sigh,
'Fine, stay in your room.' he says,
'Oh and watch out for the glass at the bottom of the stairs.'
'Thanks, just go back to bed.' I walk over to the bed and get under the sheets with Emily. She instantly drapes her hand over my waist and cuddles up to me. I grab her hand and hold it as I relax a bit. I slowly start to drift off when Ben asks,
'Did you give him my cookies?'
'Umm, no?' I say more like a question than an answer.
'I figured you did. Anyway he's back in his cell and I got five out of the twelve guards on shift to watch him. Okay?'
'Can you make it six?' I ask,
'Done, now can I go back to bed?'
'Thank you, Ben.' I say. I turn over and snuggle up to Emily, wrapping my arms around her waist and entangling my legs with hers. I rest my head on the pillow next to hers, I look at her sleeping peacefully, she takes a deep breath though her nose and smiles while she's still sleeping. I close my eyes and smile as well, as I'm drifting further into sleep I hear,
'Goodnight Beautiful, I love you.'
