"Mom! Dad! What are you guys doing here!" I exclaimed in shock. "we wanted to see our baby girl." My father said as they both entered inside. My parents never show up unannounced unless it was something urgent. "I see you've changed your style." Mother said staring at Jason and me. "umm, no." I corrected.

"what are you guys up to anyway?" Father asked. "nothing much. Just heading out." I replied. "so, what brings you guys here?" "we need to talk to you both." Mother told us. "well, can it wait? we were just heading out for some work." I said. "no, it cannot. Let's sit down." father said sternly.

Jason and I glanced at each other before sitting down on the sofa quietly. "you thought we wouldn't know?" father said pointing a finger between Jason and me. "know what?" I asked timidly. "you went after Melissa Pane's killer!" father bellowed. "calm down honey." Mother pacified him. "father! Relax! Just listen to us." I told him.

"I will NOT listen to the two of you! How could you do something like this? What if something would have happened to you!" he yelled. "father, the police were not gonna do anything. Sheriff Manny himself was helping them. I couldn't let Mel's killer go scot free!" I spoke courageously. "heck, they had already declared her death as an accident!" I added. "father, you have to understand, I couldn't just sit here and do nothing. Don't you always tell me to not sit ideal and to work for what I want?"

"but Anne" he began. I cut him, "catching Melissa's killer is what I wanted. What we wanted." I said as I placed my palm on Jason's knee. "I wouldn't be able to live in peace, if I knew the truth and justice wasn't served." Father's face visibly softened. "we were just really worried Anne. About you, Jason, and Roger." he said quietly. "we are all fine now." I partially lied. I know we were still are in danger, but I didn't want them to worry even more. Jason squeezed my hand gently. "they need to know everything. From the very beginning Anne." he said.

I glared at Jason. If looks could kill, he wouldn't have survived this one. "I know you don't want them to worry, but they are your parents, they deserve to know the truth." He read my mind. I sighed. "okay then. mom, dad, this is the entire story." I sucked in a breath and began telling them everything from the beginning.

"I cannot believe my own brother wanted to harm you kids." Father said clutching his forehead in frustration. He tone was self-accusatory. "no father. It isn't your fault. So do not blame yourself for any of this." I said firmly. We then went ahead and informed them about us going to check out Ferns Antique Dealers. "let us go" mother suggested. "no mother. We simply cannot let you go." I shook my head.

"we will do this ourselves." Jason added. "we will be careful. I promise you Mr. and Mrs. Stark." "you sure?" mother asked us both. "positive." I replied. "okay then. but I want constant updates. You got that?" mother said sternly. I knew she couldn't take no for an answer. "done." Jason and I said in unison. "okay then. we'll head back home." Father said. They both stood up and hugged me and Jason. "take care. We love you both." Mother said and she and father walked outside.

"we should get going too." Jason said. I nodded. We drove to Ferns Antique Dealers in Jacksonville. The store had some really beautiful pieces. I had never seen a shop so well kept before. We entered inside looking ridiculous in our outfits. The place wasn't very crowded. We began looking at some luggage sets and some silverware, when the assistant manager walked up to us and introduced himself. "Hello ma'am, hello sir. My name is Sam, how can I be of assistance today?"

"Bonjour! I iz Mrs. Adams, and thiz iz Monsieur Adams." I chirped in a fake accent. Since I spoke fluent French, the accent came pretty easily. "Hello." Jason or should I say, Mr. Adams, spoke in a sharp British accent. "Welcome to Ferns Antique Dealers. So, what is the happy couple looking for today?" Sam asked politely.
