I nervously make my way to the back table where Zach is sitting. I sit down next to him, and he turns his head towards me.
"Hi, I'm Zach." He smiles.
"Um, I know." I stutter.
"You know who I am?" he asks, looking puzzled.
"Who doesn't know you?" I answer.
He shrugs. "I'm not some celebrity. I'm just like everyone else."
"You're not though," I say shyly, ducking my head.
"How so?"
I sigh. "You're captain of the soccer team. Not everyone can say that."
"Well, everyone's good at something," he says. "What about you? What do you like to do?"
I shrug, nothing. I'm pretty boring.
He nudges my arm. "Come on, let me into your mind."
I barely even know this guy, he's too friendly for his own good. The last thing he should want to do is get to know me. l would just bring down his social status.
"You'd lose your mind trying to understand my mind," I say quietly.
He shrugs and gives me a wink. "Maybe I've already lost it."
