Today, I don't have group therapy, so I head straight home after school. I unlock the door and go upstairs to my room. I close the door behind me and throw my bag on the floor. I lay down on my bed, I'm exhausted.

I grab my phone and scroll quickly through Instagram and Twitter, nothing exciting there. I hear a car pull up in the driveway, and I get up and walk over to my window seat to watch.

Megan, Sofia, and Kaylie get out of the car and go inside our house. I groan, I don't want to be here if they're in the house. I grab my skateboard and leave once they're in Megan's room.

I skateboard down the street and turn the corner. Before I know it, I'm on the ground. I open my eyes, and I see a guy on top of me.

"Are you okay?" he asks.

"What just happened?"

"We collided." He grins sheepishly and holds up his skateboard.

"Oh," I say, and sit up.

"I didn't mean to, it was an accident."

"It's cool."

He offers me a hand up. "I'm Dylan."

"Maddie," I say.

"Do you live around here?"

I point to my house nearby.

He continues. "I just moved here, so I'm assuming we'll be in the same school?"

I laugh. "Yeah, everyone here goes to the same school. I'm in my sophomore year, you?"

"Same here," Dylan says, smiling. "I got to go, but I'll see you around."

"See ya," I yell.

I decide to head back home, suddenly not in the mood to skateboard anymore. I enter the house to find Megan and her friends watching Mean girls. Coincidence? I think not.

I walk up the stairs to my room, going unnoticed.
