CH.15. SIBLINGS

Evi slept till evening and was woken up violently by the old maid.

As soon as she freshened up, she got ordered around, about what to wear and how to wear them, and Evi happily complied as she agreed that without the maid's help she wouldn't have had a single jewelry put on.

" Where does this go Purnima chachi?"

"On your waist miss. How can you not know that?"

" Sorry, I am not familiar with so many jewelries" Evi almost expected a taunt but just received a tired sigh.

Soon with much reluctance from both the parties, Purnima completed Evi's hair and makeup.

" Here, wear these flat sandals. You are already taller than Panchalraj, I hope he doesn't take offense in that"

" What's he gonna do? Cut my legs?" Evi chuckled making Purnima smirk too.

Soon Purnima looked Evi from head to toe, gave her a nod of approval and sent her to the meeting hall.

As Evi caught a glimpse of her get up in one of the mirrors in the hallway, she admired how beautiful the blue saree looked on her. She pulled and fixed some twigs of her hair that were bothering her because of the tight hairdo and gave herself a twirl to completely judge the outfit.

" Woah" Evi heard Krishna complimenting her get up from behind.

" Why are you dressed so casually when I am literally laden with jewelries like a bride?" Evi questioned how usual Krishna looked. "Wasn't he supposed to be really good looking?"

" Wow, you cannot let a second pass without taking a jab at me" Krishna walked up to her. " People see me the way they think about me. I reflect their own minds. If a person loves me, they'll think I am beautiful. If they loathe me, they'll find me ugly"

" Bruh, isn't it the same for everyone?" Evi shot him a questioning look.

" Usually in Kalyug the sequence is reversed" He let out a chuckle. " Anyways, let's go. Remember, I am going to introduce you as my fiancee" He pulled Evi into the designated room for the meeting.

" About that.. Let's not-"

Before she could complete her sentence Panchalraj Drupad stepped into the room along with his three children and few officials.

" Pranaam Panchalraj!" Krishna said while folding his hands. Evi too followed.

" Pranaam Vasudev Krishna!" Drupad did the same along with his three children. " As always you seem as healthy as a horse. Or rather I say a cow?" Drupad laughed at his own dad joke making his two elder children cringe. Draupadi however completely felt elated.

" Govind is always healthy and happy as a bird" She chirped and went on to touch his feet.

" Arre, what are you doing Sakhi? Friends hug, they don't touch each others feet" Saying that Krishna pulled Draupadi in a close hug.

" You are probably the only man who women can hug without feeling uncomfortable" Dhristhdyumn said while Shikhandini nodded.

" Not all women though. This one actually refused to even look at me when we first met" Krishna pointed at Evi who was previously successfully blending into the background.

"This stupid ass-"

" SAKHI!" Draupadi jumped onto Evi.

" Oh!" Evi was shocked at the sudden action that she had to balance herself while grabbing onto Draupadi who had completely thrown her bodyweight onto her.
