I was forced by Cole to go and get the cars with him. We would have to walk back and forth three times but I didn't mind, since I had a strong bond with Cole.

The winter breeze brushed past us, mockingly, and I shrugged myself more into my jacket, burying my chin in the top of the jacket.

It was silent and Cole looked distant, whereas I was confused. I didn't know if I wasn't wanted or was wanted in the world anymore. Some people want me in their lives, others would take the chance to kill me if it was legal and I was afraid that some of my brothers didn't want me.

"Cole?" I asked, my teeth chattering from the cold and he frowned down at me with concern. He draped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to him, making an 'mhm' sound in the back of his throat. "Why do some of the others hate me?"

"They don't hate you, Em. They're just angry." He hesitated for the word at the end and my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Why would they be angry?" I asked, glancing up at him. He met my gaze before sighing and looking up at the sky. I felt like I'd annoyed him but as I was about to apologise, he spoke.

"They're angry that you were brought here. There's some dangerous people in this town and they just don't want you to get hurt." He told me and I made and 'o' shape with my, not knowing whether to believe him or not.

There was a sudden, loud honk from next to us and I jumped to the side, obviously not going very far since I was nuzzled into Cole.

The window was rolled down and Luke nodded blankly to the back of the car, gesturing for us to get in, which left me confused since we'd hidden the cars. We were just going to get them and he turns up, already having grabbed one of them.

"Did Blake grab one too?" Cole asked and we buckled our seat belts before Luke started driving again. He nodded as he headed in the direction where we had parked the cars.

There was one car left and Cole hopped out and held his hand out for me to get out with him but Luke cleared his throat, our attention focusing on him.

"I just want to go over a few things with her." Luke told Cole and I re-buckled my seat belt. Cole sighed but nodded understandingly, giving me a gentle smile before he shut the door.

Luke turned around and started driving in the opposite direction. He looked at me through rear-view mirror, making me shift uncomfortably in my seat. I twiddled my thumbs and bit my lip wondering what he possibly wanted to go over me with.

"Emily." My head snapped up and I looked at half of his face, since I was sat in the middle seat. "I wanted to go over some things with you and I have rules for you, that you must follow. What I discuss with you, must not be told to Parker, Sandy, dad, no one. Only the others."

I nodded at him, waiting for what he was going to say next. I was curious and nervous to what he had to say because it must be important if he even has to keep it a secret from dad.

"We're in a gang, so you must keep quiet in front of Sandy and dad, got it?" He snapped and I nodded, obediently, not wanting to get on his bad side. Whereas at the same time I was freaking out in my head. They were in a gang?

"Good, now here are some rules." He took a deep breath, taking another glance at me through the rear-view mirror before gluing his eyes back at the road. "You must tell us where you're going at all times, tell us who you are going with. You must not go anywhere alone. At your new school, you must check with us who you have made friends with, no boyfriend. I have managed to get Liam in most of your classes but I had some struggle with a few of them."

My eyes narrowed. Did he just tell me that I had to tell them everything? That I couldn't have a boyfriend? That I couldn't go anywhere on my own? Who did they think they were? My bodyguards? I mentally scoffed.
