There's a new one of these coming out and the trailer has dinosaurs and Nazis on the moon! And like that looked a bit fun. So we thought we should see where it started. There is a lovely slap-dash spirit, which I guess is what you get from Finnish-German-Australian production. It reminds me a bit of all those fusion productions of kids tv in the 90s.
And the production values are amazing. This film looks excellent. The effects are excellent, the acting is excellent, the filming is excellent. I admire their over-the-top sense of humour, even in the more obvious or strange gags. It is a funky premise and it looks every bit like an A-grade movie, which surprised me because I was expecting bad-bad-bad movie goodness.
But at the end of the day this moon-blimp didn't quite land for me. I think it was a bit too sketch-comedy strung-together, more a series of skits than a narrative. And many of the skits were funny, but I just didn't get pulled along.

PS. Will probably see the next one though, because riding dinosaurs on the moon.
