My dad barges in an hour later. His shirt is full of drops of blood but I guess I'm supposed to ignore that.

Dad: what were you saying?!
Me: shut the door, dude.
Dad: don't talk to me like I'm your friend, man! what were you saying?!
Me: I want to join the business.
Dad: you're not doing that.
Me: why?
Dad: I thought we agreed that you're not doing that.

I get up and shut my door.

Me: no, dad! you did! you made that decision for me. I had no part in it and you made that decision for me.
Dad: Ntsikelelo, my word is final.
Me: well, maybe it doesn't have to be.
Dad: try me, boy.

He says and then walks out. I don't know how old he thinks I am but I am not going to be intimidated by him.
