Christina

"Ah, you two!" a familiar voice shouts. I turn my head and it's our neighbour, the one we met yesterday on our walk.

"Hi!" I beam back.

"Are we still going to do, uh, tonight?" she asked.

"Absolutely! We've been so excited." Kate answered.

"Ja! My wife and I, also. She's really excited."

"Just let us know when you want us to come over." Kate says.

"We're about to head out for breakfast. Shall we all go together?"

"Sure!" I reply.

We wait for her wife to come out but it was then that I realise that I don't know her name, nor her wife's name.

"Sorry, I didn't catch your names." I say.

"Oh, it's no problem. I am Adelaide and my wife is Bennie."

"Bennie?" I repeat.

"Her parents had liked that name for a boy. But they had a girl, so they changed the ending to I-E instead of Y."

"It's a nice name." I say.

"It is." Kate agreed.

"I am ready!" a soft voice called. She had a really thick Swedish accent and the tone of her voice sounded as if she could never get angry.

"Na endlich! Let's go!" Adelaide replied.

"Okay, okay! Oh, is this the honeymoon couple?" she asked as she noticed us. She had blue eyes and I saw blonde hair poking out of her hat. She was just a little taller than Adelaide and she was quite thin.

"Yes! Aren't they cute, Meine Frau?"

"They are, Min kärlek." Bennie replied.

"Right, shall we head to breakfast?" Adeladie asked.

We all agreed and started walking. It was still dark, and the sun won't be up until ten o'clock. I held hands with Kate, and she'd squeeze my hand every so often, I'd reciprocate. Sometimes I'd lean over and kiss her cheek and she'd smile while a light blush spread across her cheeks. I love her and she loves me. What a feeling.

"So, how long have you two been together?" Bennie asks us.

"Well, we've been a couple for ten years. She ask me out when we were nine," Kate explained, "She proposed to me in May of last year and then we got married in September."

"Wow, that sure is a long time!" Adeladie said.

"It is. And I've loved every single second I've had with her," Kate said softly, "What about you guys?"

"Well, we've been together since the eighties? Just dating since we couldn't marry." Bennie shrugged.

"Ja, then I proposed in two-thousand-and-nine and you already know that we got married when Sweden legalised it. We've lived in Stockholm since. I've even taken up Swedish." Adeladie finished.

"She's awful." Bennie groaned.

"Nein! She tells lies! Lügen, sage ich euch!" Adelaide gasped. I translated for Kate and she laughed quite a bit.

"I do not lie." Bennie simply said.

"My Swedish isn't bad!"

"Whatever you say." she shrugged.

"I hope we're like this someday." Kate looked up at me.

"We already are, sweetheart." I tell her with a slight chuckle.

"No!"

"You're just proving my point, Bach."

"Whatever." she rolled here eyes at me.
