Third POV

 Two weeks later

In Hastinapur

"Par main yeh nahi man rahin Hun." (But I do not agree to it.)

"Kisi ne pucha hi nahi hai." (Nobody even asked you.)

"Kaise nahi pucha? Balki behtar yeh hoga mera puchna, ki Kyun nahi pucha?" (How did you not ask? Wait, the better question would be , why did you not ask me?)

"Hume is baat par nirnay lene ka hak hai." (We have the right to take decision on your behalf.)

"Mere zindagi ka nirnay nahi." (Not the decision of my life.)

"Hume tum se bade Hain, yeh humara hak hai." (We are elder than you, we have the right.)

"Chup Karo tum dono." (Shut up, both of you.) Maharaj Dhritarashtra intervenes, stopping the fighting siblings.

"Par Maharaj, Dushassan sahi toh bol raha Hain na." (But My king, Dushassan is saying the right thing, am I right or not?) Gandhar Raj Shakuni drawls from where he was seated in the room.
"Hume hak toh Hain na, kuch nirnay lene ka." (We do have the right, to take some decision, right?)

"Is baat par nahi." (Not on this topic.) Dushala says, her voice firm.

"Bade baat karein toh bachoan ko nahi bolna chahhiye." (When the elders talk, kids should not speak in between.) Gandhar Raj says.

"Mere zindagi ki baat karenge, toh main boloungi." (When you will talk about my life, then I will speak.) Dushala says, her voice reaching higher levels.

"Jab se woh Kaliyuga ki ladki aayi hai-" (Since that Kali Yuga's girl has landed here -)

"Woh Kaliyuga ki ladki meri Bhabhi hai." (That Kali Yuga's girl is my sister- in- law.) Dushala screams at her uncle. "Unka apman mere samne maat kijiye, Mama Shree Shakuni." (Do not dis- respect her, in front of me.)

"Satya aise hi kadwa hota hai." (Truth is always bitter like this.) He bites back.

"Mujhe samjha hi kab tha aapne, Mama Shree?" (When did you understand me, uncle dear?) Dushala questions, "Aap ko kaise pata ki yeh Mujhe unhone sikhaya hai ki main aisi hi thi?" (How do you know that she has taught me all this or was I always like this?)
