In Hastinapur
Vikarna steps out of the room and runs directly into someone. Someone he hoped did not seem him around Gandhar Raj Shakuni's room.
And that someone was Maha Mahim Bishma.
"Maha Mahim!" Vikarna curses himself when his voice wavers at the end of the line. "Pranipatra!" (Greetings!)
"Pranipatra Vikarna!" (Greetings Vikarna!) Maha Mahim nods at me, his eyes flickering between me and the door of Mama Shree Shakuni's gate.
Oh Narayan! He is being suspicious.
"Kya Hua? Yahan kaise aana Hua?" (What happened? How come you are here?) He questions.
Oh shit! What do I say? Oh Narayan! bless me! "Woh" (That) I begin slowly. "Maha Mahim, Mama Shree ke liye kahin se patra aaya that oh main wahi dene aaya tha." (Maha Mahim, uncle got a letter frim somewhere, so I came to deliver it.)
"Tum Kyun dene aye? Kisi senik ke hathoan bhejwa Diya hota." (Why did you come to give it? You could have sent it through a solider.) He further enquires.
I am in a deep mess today. Oh Mahadev! Help me.
"Bas yun hi Maha Mahim. Patra glati se mere kamre Mein aa Gaya tha." (Just like that, Maha Mahim. The letter must have come to my room by mistake) I reply cooking up a story.
"Tumhare kamre Mein?" (In your room?) He raises an eyebrow.
"Ji Maha Mahim," (Yes, Maha Mahim.) I nod. "Woh Mujhe Yuyutsu ne ek patra likha tha, uski ke saath galti se chhut Gaya hoga." (Actually, Yuyutsu wrote a letter to me, it may have come with the same, accidently.)
He still looks at me suspicious and un- convinced.
"Us pe kuch likha bhi nahi toh, isliye bhi Ho sakta hai." (It had nothing written on the top, that may be the reason too.) I add slowly.
