"I don't remember the hotel in Canada. And honestly, I'm surprised a wolf pack allowed us to buy real estate within their territory. But I'll review the management and finances-"Jan was telling Ivan as they walked toward the suite on the Lycan floor when the most unusual sound drifted by.

It was a burst of deep laughter, hearty and full of life. It tickled his ears and curled around his heart, warming his soul. It was an infectious joy that instinctively drew a smile on his face.

Drawn by the sound, Jan's body moved on its own. Soon, his palm was against the heavy, wooden door, pushing it back.

Jan's molten silver eyes instantly latched on the stunning creature lounging by the kitchenette in the living area. Amid the dark, lacquered beams and cream paint decor, Ethan shone brighter than a thousand suns, drawing all eyes and filling the room with his aura. Everything and everyone else was insignificant.

Jan sighed, finally understanding what the wolf had meant when he said, "You're the breath in my lungs."

Seeing Ethan, Jan felt like a drowning man finally coming up for air. He had not even realized how much he had missed him. Now that the alpha stood before him, wrapped in a snug, white, tailored uniform with gold buttons, Jan felt whole. And his fingers itched to unwrap this warm present and discover the treat within.

The thick, corded muscles in Ethan's shoulders rippled as he unfurled from the counter. Long, powerful legs straightened into a narrow, cinched waist, complementing his sturdy frame and broad shoulders. The alpha's movement was smooth and unhurried, oozing suave confidence.

Gods, he's gorgeous! Jan gulped, moistening a dry throat as his eyes gobbled up the wolf.

Then, his gaze met the sparkling hazel irises filled with warmth and laughter. Something fragile, deep within him, melted.

"Hey, Ivan. Just the man I've been looking for," Eri announced, stepping out from behind Ethan. Jan had not even noticed there was another person in the room. "I need a moment of your time..."

From the corner of his eye, he watched as the beta clamped a hand on Ivan's arm and drew him into a conversation. Still talking, their steps angled toward the door. Careful of Ethan's seductive threat, the blond vampire turned to follow his brother.

"Jan."

The soft call halted his feet. His pulse ticked up a beat. The heavy door clicked shut behind him, drowning out Eri and Ivan's conversation. Silence fell in the room.

Slowly, the alpha walked up to him. Heat radiated from his body, tingling the fine hairs on Jan's arm. The vampire ground his teeth as he fought the urge to lean against that broad chest and soak more of the warmth.

The potent, masculine scent flooded the air around him, setting his senses ablaze. And when Ethan's hot breath swirled over his ears, Jan closed his eyes, swallowing a groan against the shivers racing down his back.

"Jan?"

The vampire stood frozen. He could not respond.

Afraid Ethan would see the desire burning in his eyes, he kept them closed and lowered his head. But that hardly helped because his skin and ears grew a thousand times more powerful, picking up on the wolf's heat and painting a vivid picture as Ethan shuffled closer. He yanked his vest lower, trying to hide the sudden tightness in his pants.

However, there was nothing to cover the sound of his racing heart.

"Hey... what's wrong?" Ethan's thumb caressed Jan's chin and, with gentle pressure, tilted it up.
