Growing closer to God is like any other relationship. How do you grow closer to people?
By communication. You speak to the person. You involve them in your life and invite their presence. You share your sorrows and joys, you listen to them, etc. With God, it's similar but also done with great reverence. You speak to your God, you communicate, and you open up to invite Jesus into your hearts and do life with Him.
You share experiences. You seek Him on decisions. You just involve Him.
Take time to read the word of God and worship. The word of God is Jesus. When you're filled with God's word you're filling yourself with Jesus. You grow closer to Him because His word lives in you.
And worship is when you begin to worship God for who He is. Worship is such a beautiful thing and honors God. Take time to praise God, worship Him for who He is and you'll be filled because we were created for worship.
My challenge for you today is to choose 2 worship songs (or more) that you'll listen to and worship God with.
