As I write this, I wonder how exactly I'm going to stay on top of things next week. It's been a busy week, it's going to be busier next week, and I feel really stressed out. One of the things that's been stressing me out as of late, is how far I feel from the presence of God. I realize now that I can never really be out of his presence, I just feel far from him because I haven't done what he asked me to do. And I haven't done it yet, because I let my busy schedule and lack of self-discipline take first place instead of God. The Bible says;

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 (New Living Translation) For everything there is a season, A time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest.

Let's look at this from this perspective first. One of the reasons why we feel that we have no time is because we aren't usually using it properly. I think having a list of the most important things you need to do that day and following through would really go a long way to improving your level of discipline. Oftentimes, we run into problems because we keep getting distracted and I can't blame you. There is so much interesting stuff to do out there.

But it's important to focus on what is important. God comes first, and so should your daily devotion every day. Don't jump on every new trend or business idea that comes your way, ask yourself, "Do I really want to do this, or am I being influenced by something?" Pray concerning anything you want to do or try and listen carefully for God's answer. Sometimes, the time for that new hobby isn't right and doing it now could keep you from doing what you're supposed to be doing.

God should be the centre of your schedule and not someone you just shove into the corner of it. He is your father and your guide. You need him for everything, and going about your day without committing it into his hands first is a bad idea. You need his words and you need to develop a relationship with him, to protect yourself from the voices of the enemy and his agents. Sometimes (not always) There are certain things in our schedules that are only there because of our flesh and sinful desires. This is why we need to speak to God daily and ask for his help. He can point you in the right direction so that you don't waste your energy on unnecessary things.

It's easier said than done if I'm being honest. I mean, I was supposed to have go on a fast months ago and I kept giving excuses. I just kept on giving excuses which seemed valid at the time. But now I realize, that if I don't do what I'm supposed to, there could be dire consequences.

Praying to God for strength is also vital. Sometimes, discipline isn't the problem, but we get mentally and physically exhausted and it makes doing the easiest things so difficult, it happens to me too, and sometimes, I'm in a rut for days, wondering if I'll be able to get out of it. Here are a few bible verses that can if you have a similar problem;

2 Thessalonians 3:5: For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised (NKJV)

Romans 5:3-5: We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love (NLT)

Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (NKJV)

You could also pull away from things that stress you out. You don't need to be on that new group chat if it's draining you more than it's helping you. You don't always have to stay around people who use you or suck out all your energy. It's important to take breaks from time to time and also to relax so that your schedule doesn't become overwhelming. Remember to take everything one step at a time.

One more suggestion, surround yourself with things that help you maintain a peaceful and godly atmosphere. This could be listening to gospel music while you drive or reading a devotion while you wait for your food. Just try to find little ways to include God in your day-to-day life, maintain a holy atmosphere and you'll really notice the difference. I pray that God continues to help us and give us the strength to deal with daily issues and resist the distractions and afflictions of the enemy in Jesus' name. I really hope this helped someone😊
