It's been a week already and I started practicing to walk on my own. However, I usually fell on the floor and hurt myself. My skin bruises so easily, probably because the body I have right now is very fragile

I crawled towards the mirror and stared at myself. This is Evaine's face, she has silver hair and crimson eyes. The hair is very identical to her majesty but the eyes aren't.

I've never been out in this room since the day I realized I was reborn. I don't know what the palace looked like outside that door nor know what the town looks like outside the palace.

"Lady Evaine!"

I turned around and saw a maid comes in, rushing toward me and carrying me back to my crib

"What have you been doing on the floor?" She calmly asks

I didn't answer since they'll think I'm looking for her majesty again. I know the queen is a very busy person, therefore I must not disturb her.

I sat down on my crib and stared at the maid

"Aw, you look so cute," she stated gently touching my hair

"Meriadoc! Where are you!?"

We heard a very loud yell outside my room, it sounds very angry. The maid jolted as she heard that person

The door slammed and I saw a very grumpy-looking middle age woman, also wearing victorian era maid attire.

"What are you doing here!? You're supposed to be down there helping me and the other maids cook!"

"I- I am truly sorry, madam, her majesty's daughter is on the floor and I have to pick her up," Meriadoc explained

"I don't care whatever your reasons are! I want you in the kitchen, now! Leave the baby in that crib, and go help us!" The old woman yelled

"Y- Yes, madam," Meriadoc replied

The old woman looks at me, "This baby doesn't deserve your help at all, she's a witch,"

"N- No, she's probably not, madam—"

"Quiet! I did not ask for your opinion!"

I couldn't help myself but cry, I can't stand all the shouting inside my room

Meriadoc was about to pick me up, however, the old maid stopped her and said, "Don't you dare.... I don't want you carrying the disease that child have in the kitchen!"

"What's the commotion here? Why are you both in Evaine's room?" The queen asked as soon as she arrived in my room

The old woman smiled and stated, "Nothing, your majesty, it's just Evaine is crying and we were simply trying to cheer her up by playing with her in the meantime,"

I cried even more after she said that. The queen walked towards me and carried me

"You may leave Evaine's room at once." The queen ordered

"Yes, your majesty," the old maid stated

I looked at her as they're approaching the door. Before she closed the door, I glare at her. I wanted to give her a middle finger but I don't want the rumor about me being a witch to get worse

"I'm sorry if I left you all alone here, Evaine, are you hungry?" The queen asks

I just want you to close the door before departing my room next time, please

Meriadoc has been serving me and playing with me for a long time now

I recognize her name somewhere in the novel, as far as I remember, her full name was Meriadoc Simmons, and she is Evaine's maid. She's also known as Merry. However, in the novel, Evaine usually abuses her. She's like a personal punching bag whenever Evaine is angry at the protagonist.

As I observed her, she's wearing thick glasses and had brown hair. She is a very fragile-looking woman, I believe she's in her early twenties right now.

I pity her whenever I remember how Evaine treats her. But, I don't have to worry about that, I am currently the one and only wretch in the novel, Evaine Mortimer, I won't let her experience those things that happened inside the novel

Evaine is not a very good person if I say so myself, she was so self-absorbed, entitled, and wicked. She's the total opposite of my personality!

But, other than that, Evaine is a very intelligent character, she aces almost every class she has in this novel. Now, that's the only thing we're similar to.

I'm somewhat frustrated thinking I have to live the rest of my second life as the villainess. I never want this, I never desired to be her. I don't have a reason to like Evaine in the first place too.

Whenever I am alone in this spacious empty room, I secretly practiced how to walk on my own. It's better to learn things in advance

I don't worry about learning how to talk though, I'll wait until Evaine's first birthday.

I do not want to make people think that I'm a witch! No, no!

Meriadoc carried me back to my bed and sang a little lullaby for me

I'm not gonna lie, her voice is so soft. I close my eyes as she continues to sing

Her voice is making me sleepy...
