Amruta hugged her son and sobbed heavily, the pain caused by her husband's act is completely dominated by the peace and happiness she felt hugging her son, if she gets to touch her son and feel his love, she could take 1000 slaps from her husband, thought she. The thought was a slap on her self-respect but for a mother, it's bliss. She sobbed even more when she felt her elder son hugging her back with his right hand on her hair...

She expected him to push her away and punish her for looking into his eyes and touching him, but when she felt him hugging her back, she thought she wouldn't regret even if she lost her life the next moment.

"I don't regret even if I die now Abhi", Amruta whispered to herself but her son heard it, he fisted his palm to control his anger hearing her words, his mother can't die... not only because she is his mother and he couldn't take the thought of something happening to her, but also because she should be alive and bear the punishment of her betrayal too. And when she called her 'Abhi' after all these years, he felt uncontrollable rage with his veins popping out, but at the same time it soothed his burn but he didn't want to encourage the positive feelings. His mother didn't deserve it after her betrayal.

He detached himself from her and took 2 steps back putting a distance in between them...

"Abhi...", Amruta called with pain

"Abhyansh...", he corrected her coldly before taking a seat on the chair and showed his palm towards the bed asking her to sit there... She gulped her pain looking at his cold form.

"C..Can I please sit beside you Abh...Abhyansh ?", Amruta asked with hope and Abhyansh nodded but showed his palm to the seat in front of him, so that she won't be too near to him either. Amruta nodded with a thankful smile, at least she gets to sit near to him if not beside him.

Both the mother-son sat in uncomfortable silence for a while. None spoke a word, Amruta is afraid of her son leaving the room if she opens her mouth while Abhyansh is hesitant on how to start a conversation, it's been years since he had spoken to his mother except for answering her in monosyllables that too once in a blue moon. He is not sure about how to frame a sentence, how does a son ask his mother if his father abuses her ?

When he is thinking all this, his phone pops up with his wife's message, that brought relief at the same time worry to him. Relief at how his wife understood him so well and worry thinking how could he hide things from her, things that could hurt her if she reads him like an open book ?

"Just ask whatever you have in your head, anyways you are not good at putting filters to that mouth, Actually sorry, it always stays in a filter called 'silent'. Remove the filter at least for today Mr. Husband", Isha's text read. A small smile formed on his face but he soon covered it.

He knew she was trying to lighten up his mood at the same time trying to take off his hesitation so that he could start a conversation with his mother and it worked perfectly.

"From when is this going on ?", Abhyansh asked, he is going to follow the 'direct approach', like his wife said, he is very bad at putting filters while speaking  anyways as she said.

His mother is startled with his cold tone and the question that left his mouth...

"This...This is the firs...", Amruta started but is cut off by her son sternly...

"You better not lie to me, you won't like the consequences...", he said and tears fell from her eyes out of fear, what if her son kills her husband?

"I...It n..e...", Amruta fumbled

"Don't fumble", Abhyansh spoke coldly making his mother gasp...

"It never stopped", Amruta completed her sentence trying hard not to fumble, her one sentence brought the BEAST out of him...
