It took two days for the village to be cleaned up. Food was divided amongst females and the elderly. "I don't see why you are showing mercy to them Iris." Djin said cleaning fish for hot pot. "I am doing what my mother would have done. Let's not dwell on the actions of fools. I want to make it threw the cold season." I said cutting stone fruit and peppers. "Our flower is right let us worry about the future. When the cold season ends we will head for beastman city." King said relaxing in a corner. "Salem,and Sahara are taking a while to get back." I said looking twords the entrance. "They are probably getting supplies for you. Once cold season comes we will be asleep flower and you will need to stay here."
Ghost said wrapping around one of the many pillars looks down at me with a warm smile. He isn't wrong about them hibernating and it will start soon.  The moon now high in the sky Salem and Sahara came in with for large bags of supplies. "Sorry it took so long the herbs and fruits were almost cleaned out. We managed to get enough to make it threw cold season."
Sahara said helping put it all away.  "It will be here before we know it so best prepare for it." Salem said opening jars. I don't understand why they are acting this way twords me. Males are usually mean and heartless. 
The next day I visit my mother who is having a hard time.

She looked at me with apologetic eyes. "Mama how are you holding up?" I asked she started to cough blood. I gasp rushing to her side. "I am not long for this world cub. I am sorry that I couldn't protect you from the cruelty you endured. The Males you have will do anything to protect you. I see the way they look at you and how gentle they are. You are lucky Iris to have found what most females long for. You found love in the harshest of ways. I just wish I could have done more for you. Can you ever forgive me Cub?"
She started to cry. I couldn't have her blame herself for anything. I thought taking her into my arms. "Mama there is nothing to forgive none of this was your fault. My father was cruel and lead the village with the same cruelty. He is gone and hopefully the village will bounce back. When the cold season is over my males and I are heading to the city of beasts. I don't belong here anymore Mama I'm so sorry I wasn't stronger or maybe beautiful like Mary. " I said making her shove me away. "Iris you are beautiful inside and out. Do not think so little of yourself never do I want to hear you say that." She said looking at me with the same way she did my sister. But I am not beautiful just a useless female not worthy of the males I have. I however must respect my mother. "I'm sorry mama come my Males are making fish hot pot. It's your favorite right." I said taking her hand. She smiled and nods walking with me. That meal was the last I shared with her for the next morning she was found dead. My males tried to console me but I was so numb. My mother was gone and if not for me she would still be here. I should have never been allowed to be born. "She was a good woman even if she abandoned me." I turn to see Andrew a white tiger male. "Hello cub." He said with a sad expression.
