You knew of your true ancestry. You knew the late king, Robert Baratheon was not your true father. Your true father was Jaime Lannister, your mother's twin. You knew this, but kept it a secret from your siblings. You had forced Eddard Stark to tell you what he had discovered about your heritage. Soon after Lord Stark was executed, you ran. You left King's Landing with no intention of coming back. You knew the kind of person your brother Joffrey was and you wanted no part of it.

After running for several weeks, you came across a small village. Somewhere you knew that your mother would not look for you. You happily stayed there for months, working as a kitchen wench at the village inn. You would never had left if it hadn't been for the news of your brother's death and your uncle's trial. You knew Cersei would resume her search for you now that Joffrey was gone, so you ran again.

You'd been moving for another few weeks when you met them. A stout boy with a sweet face and a tall, blonde female warrior. You knew that boy as Podrick Payne. He had been your uncle Tyrion's squire. "Princess Y/N!" You quickly placed a hand over his mouth. "Shh! It's just Y/N out here. Did my mother send you?" you asked fearfully. The blonde gripped the hilt of her sword tightly. You found her intimidating since she towered over you and it was obvious that she could use a blade. You shrank back from her as she approached you.

"You need not fear Lady Brienne," Podrick told you. " My mother has spies everywhere. Forgive me for not accepting your word on the matter," you declared. "I am not a Lannister spy. I am merely searching for the Stark girls," the knight told you. "Arya and Sansa? I thought Sansa was in King's Landing." Podrick explained all that had happened in King's Landing since your departure as Brienne watched you intently.

After a lot of begging on Podrick's part, Brienne decided to allow you to join them in their search. She kept a close watch on you though, as if she hadn't decided whether or not to trust you. Every time you looked at her, she was watching. She rarely said anything to you until one day when you were training with Podrick. For all that was good about Podrick, his skills with a sword were lacking. He wouldn't attack. You knew he was afraid to hurt you. Instead it looked more like a dance than training.

Brienne simply looked on at first not saying a word, but after a while she got fed up. "Oh for- Pod, would you please just lunge at her?!" You both jumped, startled by the sudden sound of her voice. Podrick lunged cautiously and Brienne let out an annoyed huff. She got up from the boulder she had been resting on and took Podrick's place. "I will not go easy on you," she warned just before she came at you. You were barely able to block the blow."Good! You know how to block! Now, try and land a blow!"

It went on like this for weeks. You would work on your sword fighting with Brienne every evening when you stopped to make camp. Almost all traces of the princess you were disappeared. Through the training, you got to know the warrior. She was not only a strong woman, but a caring one as well. Even though she didn't show it, Brienne felt deeply and with everything she had. She had fears like everyone else. After a while, you really began to enjoy her company.

One night, Brienne began acting differently. She decided against training and even avoided looking at you. You were confused, but brushed it off to spend more time with Podrick. The two of you had been close friends in King's Landing and so you spent most of your days riding and talking with him. Brienne was silent all through supper and even after Podrick fell asleep. After you were certain Podrick was truly asleep, you approached Brienne and sat next to her.

"Brienne? Are you alright?" you asked quietly. Even if you were still slightly intimidated by her, you truly cared about her. You had gotten too close to not care. Brienne nodded, but didn't say anything. "I know that you are not. What is it?" She sighed and replied, "I think Pod and I should find somewhere in the next village for you to stay." You were stunned. "Why? What did I do?" She shook her head. "You haven't done anything, Princess."

"It's Y/N, Brienne. Why do you want me leave you? I don't want to. I enjoy your company," you told her. "That is the problem. I enjoy your company as well but perhaps a bit too much," she answered. It took you a moment to catch her meaning. You felt your face heat up. "Brienne, you don't have to send me away," you whispered. You leaned up and kissed her cheek. "I love you too, Brienne."
