"What? But we're onto something." Hank said, looking upset. You weren't surprised. Perkin's said we'd be off the case. Guess he was right after all. Still, Hank continued to protest. "We...we just need more time, I'm sure we can-"

"Hank, you don't get it. This isn't just another investigation, it's a fucking civil war! It's out of our hands now. We're talking about national security here."

"Fuck that! You can't just pull the plug now. Not when we're so close!"

"You're always saying you can't stand androids! Jesus, Hank, make up your mind! I thought you'd be happy about this!"

"We're about to crack the case! I know we can solve it! For God's sake, Jeffery, can't you back me up this one time?" Hank said. He sighed.

"There's nothing I can do. You're back on homicide and the android returns to Cyberlife. I'm sorry, Hank, but it's over." You glanced at Connor when he said Connor had to go back. I was right then. Even if it was real, it wouldn't have mattered. They'd just take him anyway. Hank left the office angrily. You followed after him, leaving Connor there. You sat down in your desk, saying nothing. That's it then. It's over.

Connor's POV

Hank had stormed out of the office. (Y/n) followed him more calmly. She looked so...empty. I couldn't help having guilt. If only I could've done something for her. Maybe I can convince them yet. I had to try.

I walked over to them and sat down on the empty space on the desk. He looked angry and I could understand that. I was frustrated as well. I spoke up.

"We can't just give up like that! I know we could've solved this case!" I said.

"So you're going back to Cyberlife?" Hank questioned.

"I have no choice." I said, disappointed. "I'll be...deactivated and analyzed to find out why I failed."

"What if we're on the wrong side, Connor?" Hank asked. "What if we're fighting against people who just wanna be free?" I thought about it. I knew I was made to stop deviants, but there was something that made me think twice in his words. I glanced at (Y/n). She still said nothing.

"When the deviants rise up, there will be chaos. We could've stopped it!" I said. "But now it's too late."

"When you refused to kill that android at Kamski's place, you put yourself in her shoes. You showed empathy, Connor. Empathy is a human emotion." I wanted to be honest with him.

"I don't know why I did it," I said. "I know there are things that haunt you, Hank. Maybe you need to find the courage to move past them. Get on with your life. Just a plastic cops opinion, but I had to say it." I did care about Hank and it was true I knew things about his past. I had wanted to tell him that because if it truly was the last time I was going to see him, I felt he needed to hear it. Then, Hank saw Perkins come in.

"Well, well, here comes Perkins, that mother fucker. Sure don't waste any time at the FBI." Hank said.

"We can't give up. I know the answer is in the evidence we collected if Perkins takes it, it's all over." I said.

"There's no choice! You heard Fowler, we're off the case." Hank said.

"Yeah. There's nothing we can do, Connor." (Y/n) agreed, finally speaking up.

"You've got to help me, you two. I need more time so I can find a lead in the evidence we collected. I know the solution is in there! Please, (Y/n)?" I asked, hoping she would help. She sighed. She stood up and looked at me.

"This was never up to us. It was your mission, Connor." She said. I frowned. "It doesn't matter anymore. I'm going home." She said and left.

(Y/n) Status: Neutral

I turned to Hank instead. I couldn't look to her anymore, no matter how much I wanted to. I didn't have time, as much as that actually hurt to think about. I had to focus.

"Please, Hank?"

"Listen, Connor-"

"If I don't solve this case, Cyberlife will destroy me. Five minutes. It's all I ask." I said, hopeful he would help. Hank sighed.

Hank Status: Friend

"The key to the basement is on my desk." He said. "Well, get a move on! I can't distract them forever!" I grabbed the key and quickly headed to the evidence room. Hank started a fight with Perkins. But, it was just my luck for one more person to stop me. Gavin.

"Hey, Connor! I'm talking to you, asshole! Where you going? We don't need any plastic pricks around here! Or didn't anybody tell you?" He growled. I quickly thought up an excuse.

"I've been removed from the case. I'm going to register the evidence in my possession and then I'm going to leave." I told him.

"Good. Be careful on your way back. Androids have a tendency of getting set on fire these days." He said. I ignored his petty threat. He left muttering a small 'prick' under his breath. I didn't care. As much as I didn't like him, at least he was out of the way. I hurried into the archive room. I used the key and accessed the panel. I needed a password.

"Hank's password..." I sighed. "What would a hard-boiled eccentric police lieutenant choose?" I thought about the possible choices. One stood out the most to me.

Password: Fuckingpassword

"Obviously," I said to myself. I looked at the evidence. I remember the deviant that had tried to kill me at the tower. I wondered if he knew anything. I looked at the other androids that were there. I took the part I needed off one of them and activated him.

"It's dark... Where...where am I?" He asked.

"I reactivated you so you could help me. I must find Jericho." I told him.

"I don't recognize your voice. You're not one of us! I'll never tell you where Jericho is! Now leave me alone!" He said. I needed a way to trick him into telling me. I sampled Markus' voice. I hoped it would work. I went back to him. "Who's there? Who are you?" He asked.

"Everything is alright. Don't worry." I said, using the voice to trick him.

"Markus? Is that you? I tried to reach you, but the deviant hunter stopped me." He said. I knew I had to sound convincing.

"You stopped him from finding me. You saved me! You saved Jericho." I said. "You'll be alright now. I came to take you home. Give me the location of Jericho. We've gotta leave now."

"The location of Jericho? Yes. Yes, of course." We connected and I found out where to go. Then, I removed the component he needed and I left.
