Chapter 14

"Look..." I started saying finally, when she successfully ignored me for the whole day while I left for the office and even after returning from it.

"Look, look, look! I shouldn't use hey, but he can use anything he wants to." She started cutting me off mumbling to herself while arranging the bed as we already had our food separately with her having it in the dining area and me in the room.

"Are you trying to talk in your head?" I asked, folding my hands while standing behind her.

"How does he know about that?" I again heard her voice, and then she shook her head before continuing to do her work.

"Because you are talking outside." I replied and she immediately turned around only to see me behind her because of which she took a step back.

However, with that she began to fall on the bed, but held my hand in support. In the end, we both fell on the bed together as I didn't expect her to hold me and missed my step.

"What the hell!" I shouted while she held onto me tightly and released me when I pushed her hands away before moving away from her.

"I took a bath already." she mumbled breaking the silence, and I frowned before turning to look at her and saw her staring at the ceiling.

"So?" I asked not understanding her words.

"You moved away with a speed like I am smelling bad or something, so I am telling you." she replied, and I shook my head before moving my head to stare at the ceiling.

"It is not your fault! After that day, I am kind of staying away from anyone's touch." I said sighing.

"But... you... I mean we..." She stuttered, but didn't finish her words.

"Yeah! We kissed, and I didn't push you away. That is still a mystery to me why I didn't feel the suffocation, but I got it now." I said, lying in the last part because I didn't get that much suffocated like with all others but just moved away knowing well, she will get suffocated with my weight.

"Oh!" she whispered before the silence surrounded us.

"So, what is it with the leakage of mind thoughts to outside?" I asked when we continued to lay like that staring at the ceiling with an arm's length distance between us but not a single word sharing.

"I am tired of talking to myself. No one is there and then even Aunty stopped from teaching me the ways to behave by a royal member. So, the thoughts too must have got bored with the closed wall and got themselves outside." She just continued to babble making my lips twitch, but I put it down.

"Not everyone can be a royal except for the ones who have ancestors connected to the blood as Royals. You do not need to try to be one, Mridula. Because you couldn't be and not even any other person except one of the lineages. So, it is not a bad thing that my mom stopped her unnecessary classes." I said and felt her stiffen even with the space.

"Don't take my words in a wrong way. I am saying that you should be like yourself and not try something that will never happen." I added, but she didn't release her stiffness.

"Is the lineage only thing that makes someone royal?" she asked and I nodded.

"Then even I am one because if you forgot my mom was once a Vishwanth and the sister of your Dad." she said, and I closed my eyes feeling embarrassed for forgetting it.

"I forgot! Then I don't have a solution for it, but it is good to stay away from her for me. And I shouldn't have said those words yesterday." I said sighing.
